Raiders poach Roosters junior

I notice the Raiders supporters here have kept quiet about signing one of the more promising juniors at the Roosters, Jermaine Ale. Here they are saying that the Roosters can't produce any players yet a club with arguably the biggest nursery is poaching from the smallest nursery. How the tide turns.

Easts to win.

Which junior club did he play for?

Business, jermaine ale was a knights junior, i think it was new lambton.

Came to the roosters for an opportunity, not many spots now left at the roosters so he has moved on to canberra for an opportunity to make 1st grade.

improve his career, a bit like the reasons why monaghan moved to the roosters, to improve his career

What a moron.

How come as backstory you didn't mention that you "poached" Jamie Soward from us last year, who you immediately named captain for your unbeaten Flegg side?

Pull the other one.

seems to me that the difference here is that Monaghan is an established first grader now whereas Ale is not.

Looking at the roosters starting lineup from last week, 11 of the 13 have played rep footy - 9 for their state while the other two are not Austrlian born. The other two are Ryan Cross and Todd Byrne - Cross will probably play Origin some time next year if fit.

This does not include Hodges or Crocker. so all up, that is a full starting side of rep players - no wonder people think they are over the cap.

All this talk about unethical clubs who poach juniors is just crap. As if any club is going to turn down the oppertunity to sign a good young player. The thought process "he's a junior who that club has invested a lot of time and effort in, we better not sign him", that thought process has never entered the head of any CEO at any club.

Why are you complaining? f**kwit. You didn't produce him, you found him, and now we found him the second time. Where as Monaghan is BORN, PLAYED, and MADE HIS WAY FROM BEING A BABY IN CANBERRA, PLAYING HIS JUNIOR FOOTY THERE TO A FIRST GRADE PLAYER, Unless Ale was born in the St Vincents Hospital, lived in Bondi and played footy in the eastern suburbs, we can get him, and still call him our junior cause you have used some weird theory there.

Clubs should get compensated for developing a junior.

For Example, Roosters sign Fa'aoso, due do developing him up to premier league and some first grade games, penrith should get $75,000 for him as a transfer fee for developing him from SG Ball upwards.

Roosters pay knights in this case, Canberra then pays roosters.

Big Mick, that theory would send the Roosters broke from the amount of transfers they have to pay by buying players from everywhere else!.....come to think of that...Great Idea!!
