Oaklands 2 starting QB's are out with injusry leaving the raiders no choice but to start Rick Mirer and had to purchase Rob Johnson to make the depth requirements. Johnson, a backup for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' championship team last season, played two games with the Washington Redskins this season before being cut. The nine-year pro, originally drafted by Jacksonville, spent four seasons as a part-time starter in Buffalo from 1998-2001. To make room for Johnson on the roster, Oakland cut disappointing kick returner Ronney Jenkins.

Rich Gannon will miss at least two more weeks with a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder, and backup Marques Tuiasosopo injured his knee during his first NFL start last Sunday against Detroit and is uncertain when he will be ready to play again.

His last year at Buffalo was probably the worst season the Bills have had in twenty years.....

No heart at all... gets sacked on average 5 times a game..only needs to be tackled and he develops a concussion... apart from that he is a good player though.....

Hope your third stringer stays healthy so he won't be getting on the field!!

Wasn't Rob Johnson going to be the starting QB for the Buccaneers last season before he got injured which let in Brad Johnson ? If I am correct I wonder if the Bucs would have made it last year. I've booked my day off work so I can watch the Super Bowl !!!

Injuries wreck teams seasons......great example of it here. But Rick Mirer has an old yet experienced head apon them shoulders, I wouldn`t start him over Rob Johnson though. If Rob does the math he may get some 3rd downs here and there and possibly rescue Oakland for next year with Marques Tuaisosopo as backup possibly. Injuries are so cruel though to every team when it comes down to it..

That exact thing happened last year, when Donovan McNabb's ankle went, so did the eagles Superbowl, which I think they would have won with ease.

If by a few years you mean 10, then yes. He started his career with Seattle in the early 90's. He was the second overall pick behind Drew Bledsoe

(A bit of trivia for you, the third last overall pick in the 1993 draft was Trent Green, who would have thought he would have developed as well as he has!)

Speaking of derailed seasons, look at my Broncos. Mobley, Gold and Beuerlein all on the IR and Jake still to return. All this after a 5-0 start. At least we had the bye this week and I still think we can make the playoffs because a lot of results have gone our way.

Good to see Shanahan vindicated with his decision to release Griese. The guy just isn't a starting QB in the NFL.

It was hard not to have the feeling that it was too good to be true, our offence has always been good - this season it has been great, but its our defence that always lets us down. Somehow the boys actually looked alright at the start of the season and Corey Chavous was somehow one of the best corners in the league all of a sudden!!! Then it all went pear shaped when they actually started believing they were that good, when they were just throwing everything at other teams our defence was good enough to hold out enough points to let our offence win it, but now they are back to their good old selves.

The vikes have plenty of points in them, but they arent a selfish team so they share those points to the opponents as a gesture of goodwill. At least we can say we are the least selfish team in football.
