Raper struggling.

It has to be said now, Rapes has shown he is weak in a few tactical areas of the game.

In particular, kicking. last night David peacheys kicks were excellent he he must be the first choice to provide those kicks, no matter who is on the feild. I like the way he let Sully & JK have a crack at them too.
Notice Kimmorley lovers, that not one kick went dead last night. Every in goal kick was perfectly weighted & made the broncos play at it. Now if we can just find a certain 350k player to chase them & score, we'll be right.

The long game is a different story.
In his first match, JK went out & showed us that he has a 60m long kick. Now, he has changed to a love tap type kick & tries to steer the ball. It goes 30m tops. good tactic huh?
What a bout a kick on the 4th? Brisbane were ripe to be exploited by that every time last night, but never were they tested. & nearly all of our errors came on the 4th or 5th after panicking to get it to a kicker, or making a pushed play to get the metres on the 4th. DUMB!!!!

I dont know if anyone else noticed Broncos kicking game last night. every type of kick they do has trouble written on it. They obviously have a special kicking coach. Their kicks seem to defy physics the way the y spin. The Peachey drop was a classic example. I have never seen a ball spin like that.
Broncs also kicked on the 4th, like in extra time. they mixed it up well & kick well & test with every kick.

The ball Peachey dropped picking up had nothing special about it, all he had to do was stop it with his foot and pick it up, common schoolboy move not try to pick up and run, we were under siege at that time, other then that he had a good game.

Our kicking game was shocking long, Hilder and Kent, should not kick, Bird has better long kicking game.

One good point were the penalty kicks for line we grabbed great yardage, so something is right there

Hilder has a great long boot and needs to be utilised more.

ON tactics reefy, I felt raper left sully on the bench way too long , he didnt enter the field of play until the 25 minute mark, 10 minutes too late in my view.

were you at the game to see that kick?

I was.

The ball spun vertically somehow.

It should have carried to where peachey was standing but the spin caused it to accelerate downward 15 m in front of peach.
yes, he should have done better, but take nothing away from the kick which was amazing.

the only one struggling is you backflip not raper.

i thought the ball kent kicked into touch went dead! out on the full . over the sideline!!!

the reason they kicked a lot early in the tackle count was to exploit frawleys hamstring problem, have a look at the tape.

that tactic was spot on as we got repeat sets as the broncos tired.

your repeated bashing of many players get s tiresome, now its the coach added to bird, kimmorley, vagana, bailey, merritt, simmons..........

is anyone exempt??? i m sure i have missed some.

the team is performing very very well indeed and i for one am very happy with their progress albeit disappointed with their recent losses.

this team is capable of beating anyone and not just next year either!!

Its time to start with Sully, lately we have been behind straight away, lets get him out there immediatley, even if that means his just passing from dummy half the opposition, still have to be aware he might have a go, agsinst newcastle when dumas went off after 1 min, sully was so mush more dangerous, being on virtually from start, also gives him more time to read the players, we put Hilder stright in as backrower, allowing us to carry 4 forwards on bench, as Gallen, Hilder, Bailey can cover any injury to backs

God you are one dumb SOB arent you.

read my post. How the hell is kent going for a repeat set by aiming at the touch line?
The Sharks never not once ever kicked before the 5th.
frawleys hamstring problem???? what a goose!

judging by the timing of your posts id say either your nocturnal habits or other causes must be responsible for your post.

are you telling me that cronulla did not kick before the fifth tackle in last nights game?

I thought we kicked early a few times in the 2nd half when we were pressing their line.

btf sub species loom at the tape we kicked about 3 times before the 5th tackle, and this ball spinning vertical, it still means use your foot first, there is no excuse for a knock on like that

I am not talking about repeat set kicks PJ.
As i said, I thought that part of our game was excellent last night.
its clearing out of our half that is the problem. Not once did they clear on the 4th .

Checked the tape, and when Fox Sports go on about the sets glow chart, we had about 6 sets in a row which we completed early via a grubber to the in-goal.

Perhaps reefy means we didn't kick long early, which I don't think we did, our last tackle options were pathetic.

As for Peache's knock on...it was his first NRL touch of a football for 6 weeks. Gotta cut him some slack.

next year with our new assistant coach will help Rapes a lot, soemone that gets on well with him will add another dimension to the club, in coaching around the halves

ONe occasion , late in the game, we had a scrum feed on our 10 metre line. we has struggled terribly to make any yards at all in the past 2 sets and our pack was not hitting the advantage line, forcins us to kick on the 5th from our own 30-45 metre area, the kicks were not good and the broncos were starting their sets on the halfway or therabouts, putting us under enourmous pressure when it was field goal time .

I thought a long roost from the scrum win would have been a fantastic option, the broncos backline was flat and marking up, no fullback at home, a good chase from merrit or simmons may well have regathered, at the very leastn the broncos would have been on the retreat, picking up the pill for their zero and first tackles long before any of their forwards got back onside, we could have dominated the set in defence and had great field position.

remember those dykes to howland kicks on the first tackle from the scrum ? a few tries came from that little gem.

Exactly what I'm talking about.
the Broncos wingers stayed up until the 5th every time.
This also has a flip side affect. It means there is never the opportunity to exploit out wide by running to a winger that has dropped back.

I do not think raper is strugling at all in fact it is a pleasure to watch the sharks play win lose draw.(o would rather a win).It is better than that boring crap we had to put up with for the last 2 years. So lets give him a good go befor we start tearing him apart.
