I got the DVD for Xmas and it was great- brought back a lot of memories- interesting / challenging seeing footage of them young and fit and then them speaking sitting in armchairs etc as older people. It sure was one hell of a season in 1978 and I still think Wests were hard done by. I just loved watching the highlights of the Wests vs Manly games- ahh, Donnelly, Gibbs, Boyd, Foster, Luibinskas, O'Grady- what a pack

Has anyone else seen the DVD? What did you think?

Still, time moves on- come on Wests Tigers.

awesome DVD, if I had one criticism, it was far too short. I'd love to see a doco on this entire era of the game.

Seeing it screened on ABC a couple months back, I nearly dropped dead seeing myself on it 30 years ago...a very very weird feeling.
This period was when I first really got into league, loved following the baddies.
A lot was psychology but a lot was true (manlys self superior attitude and arrogance) as the doco proved.

Cracking doco, loved it. Still can't get over Humphries bullsh*tting about Hartley. The bloke makes 6 or 7 glaring errors in a semi and Humphries bleats "It was nothing to do with me" that he was chosen for the Grand Final.

Lying prick. Hartley should have been dumped and wasn't. That is the top's fault.

It was a magnificent psych job Masters did on the Magpies- I loved them talking about the pounding of the lockers, Dallas Donnelly and see Bruce Gibbs shaking- just waiting to get on the field............

Those days are gone but you sure dont respect / fear the forward pack now WT have- god, compare the Magpies pack and Balmain pack in those days of late 70's- early 80's, every opposition team knew they were in for a game every time. Imagine if they united in that era- maybe we should make a new thread and theorise on a united WT team then. Who would make it to a 25 man squad????



BTW- cutie- you're only hope is to get the ABC to show the doco again.

Exellent dvd,bought back all childhood memories at lidcombe oval.loved the final v manly,would have loved that side to reach the grand final
