My old local. Scummy place but I loved it!
I used to ride shotgun delivering Dales soft drinks to the Valley and Rydalmere on every saturday when I was a young spider. End of the day the boss would shout me a lemon squash but I had to sit outside in those days, because rules. As time went on the Family became my local haunt with all the pub bands of the late 70's and early 80's. To see a band you had a to buy a meal ticket or you couldn't get in. I went back later when it was the Spur Steak Ranch but haven't been for years. I suppose moving north of the border recently doesn't help either.

I forgot all about the Spur Steak Ranch. I never went there but do remember it being that for a while.

I saw Cold Chisel for the first time at the Local. I also remember War & Peace in Parra but for some reason I couldn't take to that place.

I also saw Cold Chisel at the Family. We might have been there on the same night!! The gig was so good I went and saw them at the Vicar of Wakefield in Dural the following week. Ohhh, those were the days!!!

Possum is an old duck who probably still lives on that street and drives heavy load escort vehicles.

Mate, I left in '83, ended up in the Hills district for 25 years. I always had a thing for older women but I certainly would have purposely forgotten an old duck who drove trucks in the 80's.

I lived in Rydalmere from 1969 to 1983. Oldies paid 11K for a house in Crowgey St back in the day...lol.

I lived in Dundas from 1971 till 1988. Parents still live there. Just.
Right near St Patricks College where I went to school. Just off Kirby st.

I would have delivered soft drinks there. Did you have a hot sister who would come to the door in her underwear looking smashed from a Friday night out?
