Definitely lost that hunger and mongrel we had briefly in our forward pack , its back to getting owned up the midle and flat footed plod runs again :( .

That sort of game was never gonna last with a youngish pack. Blocker's motivational speech every week was always gone lose its effectiveness. Hopefully once origin is done with we can get that groove back.

Yeh we have plateaued a bit it seems bit we are having a crack, there are no white flags...Im stoked at how weve gone so far this season

Were currently a mid table team but thats fine, this is a three- four year project and as long as we keep going in the right direction and improving, Im happy to be patient

9. Halatau
10. Galloway
11. Akuoula

13. Blair

14. Austin
15. Gavet
16. Seumanugafai
17. Sue

Not a bad lineup.
I don't rate him but a specialist hooker (Luani/Cherrington) has to start Halatau to the bench.
Austin for Anasta (hopeful is out), Sue starts Akaoula to the Bench.

Is there any word on when Paterson will be back? He was sensational in his last game against the sharks.

I don't know what others think but Luani hasn't really proved a suitable replacement for Farah (not yet anyway) so what are the thoughts of Cherrington stepping up? Do you think he would be able to play at this level?

Truth is I'd prefer to see a hooker for hooker replacement and that seems to be Potters thought process as well but the minutes might be an issue....same with Halatau coming back from injury.

Any thoughts?

Cherrington would need some state cup first id say , but hookers are tough buggers so he may handle nrl ok.

Im still not impressed by Lawrence , he tries hard and makes some half breaks , but those half breaks are all he will ever achieve imo . He ran through the biggest hole he will ever see and still couldn't run free of a front rower . He is safe I guess but thats about it.

If Simona and Lawrence switched sides that would be helpful. However I feel that the reason Simona gets poor ball is because Anasta gives him shocking service. If us tin was moved to 5/8, his service would greatly improve.

I agree with this. Simona would do a lot better with earlier ball to enable him to use his pace and fend to beat his man. I think it is just about time for Lawrence to do a bit of bulking up and move to the second row in a Fulton type role. Lets Simona go to the left and Nofo to right centre to allow Koro to come into the side.

I know we all pretty much agree here but Anasta needs to go as well.

The biggest complaint I have of Potter, in fact the only complaint I have of him is his dogmatic approach to selections. Truth is I agree with his policy of position for position however only where there is a benefit.

Potter seems like he is going to persist with Anasta all year when we have Austin on standby. I think the team has gone off the boil in attack and I think the main reason is the service from Anasta. We have Simona who has PROVEN his attack sitting out on the right doing nothing, so too Nofo. Two very potent players just making up numbers.

I have no problems with Richards or Lawrence for that matter on the left, my problem is we need to have the ability to move the ball either side to get them ALL involved. It now seems if you close down our left we have nothing. There should be 20 to 30 points a game in this backline, certainly our outside backs.

This takes me back to my original point. I think Potter need to go on the attack. Get Koro on the wing outside Nofo and Richards on the outside of Simona. Teddy at 1, Brooks at 7 and Austin at 6.

We have got to start scoring points and soon. Time for Potter to bite the bullet and give Lawrence and Anasta a rest...for the sake of the team.

Just my thoughts anyway....

I like Austin but he has the opposite problem to Anasta - Anasta doesn't want the ball and Austin likes it a little too much finds it hard to let go sometimes. He has Anasta for pace and creativity though. So I'd go with him with instructions to pass the ball 9 times out of 10. We will really struggle for field position this week with Brooks the only one in the side with a decent, but inconsistent boot

Siro starting with next to no game time under his belt in 2014, Halatau off the bench ditto, against a team that plays big men hard, direct and at pace. Could get ugly.

Not sure what Potter is thinking, my guess the plan is to play a fast expansive game and try and run them ragged, similar to the Sheens blue print that very seldom worked. We beat them early this season by playing them at their own game, that will not happen this week because we do not have the suitable cattle selected

That bench is just plain dumb. I like Halatau on the bench as I think he offers the most of any small bench player.

I see no reason to play any other utility player than Halatau though.

Against Souths we need 3 props on the bench and Halatau.

Sue, Ava, Halatau, Akaoula should be the bench. I hope Anasta is really injured and we are using his selection to give Souths a false sense of confidence.
