Know that for a fact do you?
The knights have not been setting the world on fire even with those three.

You just just beat us with your full lineup last time after we where up by 12 and had a try disallowed because they slowed down the replay to the nth degree (which they have since changed).

Souths did extremely well to beat the ref-assisted Knights. How badly did Hampstead try and keep Newcastle in the match? It was disgraceful, particularly that penalty just before the field goal and the Joe Montana pass.

Hometown Hampstead had an absolute howler out there. How he missed John Elway playing in the #7 jersey for Newcastle is beyond me. That was not just a forward pass, but a penalty for a deliberate forward pass any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Crucial poor call. And then the penalty against Souths when McManus loses it on the deck... what a barry crocker that was.

Both crucial calls and satisfying that Souths got the win as clearly they deserved it.

Also remember that souths had 16 men for most of the night since fa'alogo went off injured after 15 minutes. It was a good win by souths against a very determined knights team.

For those complaining about the forward pass, yes it was forward but at the same time I thought the MacDougall try was probably a try, at least worthy of benefit of the doubt IMO. I think that pretty much squares up the ledger. Why do we always have to ruin a good game by bitching about the ref afterwards. Both Bunnies and the Knights played well and probably proved a few people wrong who thought it was going to be a sh*t game.

This week was basically a way to increase our for and against which we didnt really do that well, however next week we face real competition in the Melbourne Storm. If we played anything like we did this week then Melbourne will put 40 on us. I enjoy playing Newcastle as it is a good learning curve on what not to do and a way to get back into good form.

Mate, if you are going to try and bait the other teams supporters, your posts have to have some semblance of reality in them! Funniest wanna-be post ever hahaha.

I disagree on the try also, he glanced it with his forearm only, if he had of got downward pressure on it either it would have stopped dead, squeezed out, or slammed up like a basketball due to the pressure.

He brushed it, just like Harrigan brushed the uninflated ball on NRLonFOX a few months back when describing what downward pressure isnt.

Exactly, I saw that too and going off how Harrigan described what downward pressure wasn't and shouldn't be awarded for, that was not downward pressure and a knock on. Correct ruling.

But then again, they say Tongue's effort vs Newcastle a fortnight ago was the wrong ruling and should have been a try! And it looked more or less identical to MacDougall's to me.

Whatched the replay till the 60 minute mark when the kids finally won the privilege to watch the cartoons.

Looked on LU to see the final score and learn that the Rabbits power away to win.
(And quickly record the last 15minutes. :) (Kids won't let go of the Toons))

Well done Rabbitoes. Top stuff.

The Tongue try was twice as much a try as the MacDougall one. Tongue's arm glances over the ball while it's on the ground, MacDougall glances over the ball while it's in the air and I think loses contact before hitting the ground again. Proof of that is in some of the Newcastle fans themselves debating where MacDougall touched it even.

We were deplorable for the 50 minute period through the middle section of the game. We have thrown away a few games this season so it was crucial we steal one back.

Just when you think referees can't get worse you watch Hampstead control one of your games. I'd love for us to get a few calls go our way, I'm not counting on it.

And FMD I have never been colder.

I thought they were both pretty similar - arm brushing the side of the ball and it getting a small bit of downward pressure, although no control.

At least this one didn't decide the match, unlike the Tongue one, since we got a try from that half a metre forward pass!
