If we can't beat a team who is close to the bottom of the table with a number of key players out and we want to be serious contenders in the finals, we don't deserve to be there.

Agreed. We should beat Knights and Raiders if we play like we did in the second half against Manly.

If we lose to them & still make the finals, it means at some point during the year we deserved it more than 8 other teams in the comp, i.e. beating Manly, Roosters & Penrith when other teams have not

I don't want to have to be watching the last game of the regular season at 7:30pm on a Sunday night hoping a result will go our way to make the finals. Let's just win them both!

I don't think it makes too much of a difference to be honest as Newcastle have played with Sione and Chanel Mata'utia on the flanks for a while now.

We lost to the Knights only weeks ago - and were never in the game. I just hope we turn up with the right attitude. My worry is they will think the next 2 games are already won

i remember once years ago we played the panthers in round 26 and needed +30 odd to make the semis we started ok and got a few quick tries so we were leading by about 16 then we went crazy trying to score off every pass and ended up losing the game!

Didn't Wagon f**k it up? Didn't he fail to pass with a player in open space unmarked? Were we up 16-0 or something? Or would that try have made it 16-0?

Yeh we had to win by 40 I think, were up about 16-0 after 20, wagon made a break and had support but tried to dummy and go himself and got smashed. Game over.

I remember we needed the dragons to beat the broncos in Brisbane as well the night before and piggy Riddell kicked the winning goal from memory
