We have almost zero ability to control the ruck, and because this is the case, if by chance we pull off a dominant tackle it is almost always deemed a ruck infringement . Opposite case for the Storm and Panthers, because they push the envelope every tackle, they get the calls. Numerous times today we should have got 6 again calls, however they got away with a lot.

Until we can find mobile forwards that can win the ruck, we will be stuck at the bottom of the ladder. I can't believe we have another year of Lane, Paulo and Matto, or that we extended Kelma. Unless Guymer, Moretti etc can step up, we are in a world of hurt.

I don't think Dicks ready was on Injured list played the Flegg game but was only on the field for half the game.Didnt impress in his time but that may have been the weather and his injury.

Yeah they gave up. Just went thru the motions in 2nd half. Training run and yet still matched us. That's basically where we are at. We'll improve heaps when 3 or 4 players are back. Not to the point we can beat the Storm fully fit down there. But better

The stark reality is that if one your halves is on 900k and is still playing, that the likes of Volkman and Hawkins should be able to just come in and do their job. But, the issue is that the bloke we're paying 900k is nothing more than a standard 400k side kick as a half.

We're totally f**ked without Moses.

Drown isn't a halfback though, he is in the team to run the ball and take kicks when Moses is caught on the fourth. This means when Moses is out he needs to be replaced by a kicker. That happened today, with Volkman taking the vast majority of the kicks. He just didn't do it well.

As for this only-genuine-halfbacks-are-worth-big-money narrative, it's bullshit. Other high involvement players can have just as big an impact on the game. For instance, there have been 28 Dally M winners in the NRL era and only half of them have been halfbacks.

The top 8 already looks set maybe sneak the Sharks in and piss the Knights off that's how I think it will finish.

I think the Top 6 is set, it's just what position they all finish...some could fall out if they cop a lot of injuries.

Realistically I think all of the other 11 could go on a significant enough run to finish 7th or 8th...all of those 11 could also run last with enough injuries.

He's not just big, he is very strong too. Good footwork to get between defenders. And still eligible for Flegg in 2026, so he's just a pup. Unfortunately he hasn't been announced as a re-signing so his shitbag manager is probably hoping to drag us into another bidding war.
