Just had a look at the line ups, and manly were missing more vital players, so I'm not giving you this one. Plus jakey was playing for manly so they were really up against it.

Try again.
You asked about us having players missing, not our opposition. If you're counting unavailable opposition players, last night Manly were without:

Aloiai
Cherry-Evans
Paseka
Sipley
Brbojevic
Jrbojevic

It explains why they were so poor through the middle.

Basically, you should be able to enjoy a win without shitting on our past, especially when we had many bigger and better wins than this one.

I couldn't give a shit about the past, it's you who indirectly refers to it and defend it all the time. I think you need to let go of the Arthur defence and enjoy watching a proper coach rebuild a team who are actually entertaining to watch and play like they actually train during the week.

Even the commentators can see the differences. Even the players are coming out now and realising they were undercoached. But here you are at every opportunity jumping in and defending BA or his sons. Let it go dude.

Only a f**king idiot could now not see that BA was an ordinary coach who has actually held us back, and is a very toxic human.....

Only someone looking for a scapegoat would read things the way you have. Not a single player or commentator has said a bad word about the old coach. That's just bitter fans with confirmation bias hearing things they want to hear.

Brad Arthur was a good coach who got good results at our club. Hopefully Ryles can do the same.

A good win for sure last night but a bit surprised by the sudden level of positivity in here.

Sure we beat Manly without Momax but they weren't at full strength, have been out of form of late and Turbo is about half the player he normally is.

Did we look better and are we on the improve? Yes and yes, but there is a long way to go with this team before we should be getting too excited.
The reality is that if you take that parra performance and watch it with BA as coach and JA in the 7 (and somehow imagine a universe where he could remotely fill in like Hawkins) then you and the rest of the Pouciples would be rock hard for a week

BA is gone - deal with it.

we are excited because most of us can objectively see that the club has got some clear air for the first time in quite a while

You're a somewhat funny merkin thinking that every post is about Pou or BA aren't you.

We need a starting prop

Moretti is starting in the middle when he is our best impact forward off the bench

Hopefully we land Pahulu

I'm talking about current players and commentators. Of course former anybodys are going to have a whinge, especially ones Arthur pushed out of the club (and who never landed anywhere else in the NRL). And how much credibility does Hadley have? Or is he credible when he's putting shit on the people you don't like?

Hawkins has never had a game like that in first grade, so it is the outlier. If you watched the game you'll know Manly were beaten through the middle and Hawkins had all the time in the world. Good on him finally getting it right at 26, but in his last start he missed seven tackles. Arthur has never defended that poorly.

He trolls everyone by invoking BA incessantly.

people try to ignore but get sucked into the incessant vortex.

the Pouciples ride to the rescue.

rinse and repeat
No, you troll me by invoking BA incessantly. Last night should've been about the team and the improvement in the young players, but instead you've again made it about Brad Arthur and his son.

You’re moving the goalposts. You said not a single player of commentator has said a bad word about the old coach. I’m showing you that’s demonstrably not true. I could ask you if anyone who doesn’t fit your narrative not have credibility? For the record I don’t dislike Brad Arthur. I will always be appreciative of the fact that he got us to a grand final. I just thought it was time for a change.

I'm aware of the old whingers Arthur cleaned out. You know that, so you know I wasn't talking about them. Their opinion is as relevant as Gutherson or RCG (or Lane or Matterson) complaining about Ryles.

How many games are enough to disprove that you need to use all 17 players every week? Bellamy only gave Seve three minutes against the Dragons this year. Some bench merkins are just backups. If you don't have 17 first graders available for selection you still need to pick 17 players. It doesn't mean you have to use them if it's not an emergency.

I need a decent sample size....

Missed point as usual.

if JA played like that in any game for parra,
He would be hailed as the best back up in the comp, the best nsw cup half of all time and a developing generational talent who debuted at 18.

the last one js my favourite fiction ever.

He wasn't going to get that experience in the outside backs because he's a bit small.
True, but he could be sitting in reserve grade or coming off the bench. The fact he is starting in first grade at fullback now is impressive. I just hope he can get a bit stronger. If he does he will become an expensive and valuable player.
