Samrani is a goer. Not sure what to think about the Penis these days. He’s got so much upside bit just can’t seem to stamp the mistakes out of his game.
Penisini was probably our best last week. He made good yards, busted tackles and almost scored..yes he needs to just be that little bit better.
Samrani played centre last night and not Kelly. Samrani played wing in reserves last week...Samrani puts in and he makes the opposition tackle him. Doesn't just flop into tackles

My tip is that ibis will be left centre next year and jacs will teach him the ropes and he will be solid as. Hopefully he will have the timana tahu defense

Though in saying that, i do like nanva

For the love of god, Penisini is not a first grader. He’s had a rails run do that position since he started and I can’t understand why.

Bloke is rubbish. Put him in reserve grade until he is absolutely destroying those teams before we consider bringing him back.

Defence seemed to be optional last night.

Massive 65 minutes from Riley Smith.

Walker makes a huge difference when he comes on, just needs to improve his defence, although it was better last night.

Much better game from Pezet. Had to laugh at the Bunker: Jonah Pezet was looking at Katoni Stags so thats an escort, fmd. Is that how we play this tough game now ? Imagine saying that to Pricey and Co.

Massive game from Iongi.

I would have taken 2 wins from 4 to start the year with rhe draw we had.

Unfortunately our pathetic performance last week has our F/A already in the shit.

But if we beat the Dragons at home were basically sitting on par where i thought we would be after the first month with a game to spare

Next 5 games at Commbank we probably need to bank 3 or 4 wins in this period tbh.

They called him young Mike when he debuted, he looks more like Vai Toutai to me.

Can't help but feel JAC hasn't fully recovered from his hand injury, some of the attempted tackles seemed to lack a willingness to commit to them.
Also the edge defense needs to be worked out, too often a large gap between MM and Kelma which the Broncos took advantage of.
A relief to get a win out of that , but still much to work on.

One other comment, I was quite impressed by how well the team managed the last 10 minutes.
We’ve seen the Eels unable to close out the tail end of close games way too many times, but the maturity of Moses, Walker and Paulo shone through there. The team were willing to just make the hard yards and get to the kick, and give Moses enough space to have Brisbane needing to ruck it out from their own half to have a sniff.

The Broncos were gassed too, which helped, but it was fun to see the opposition being ill-disciplined and pushing the pass with scoreboard pressure on them, rather than us trying to get too fancy looking for a hero play to seal it until Pezet’s play at the very end.

I said it before the game to mates

Since 1988 no sydney team has beaten the Broncos more in Brisbane then Parra.

Think the old ANZ stadium days in the 90s with garbage sides we knocked them off history books say we won the first game there in 1993 and then drew in 1994.

Then the Brian Smith era. Where we beat them twice in 98

Then again 99,01,02,03,04

6 times in 9 years under Brian Smith no other coach got even close to that.

Then we still beat them and had a winning record between 2007-2012 post Brian Smith.

3 wins (07,10,12) 2 losses

Then the BA era we won in 2014, 2017 (put 52 on them), 20, 21, 22 (53 on them)

Then Jason Ryles 2025 & 2026 is 2 wins from 2 at Suncorp.

Lets face it were the Broncos Bogey side from Sydney when playing them in Brisbane since 1988

We are 5 wins and 1 loss against them there since 2020. They are our bunnies.
