I don’t care about this year, if Lane takes up his option next year is all I care about. I believe he has an option which f**ks is of a top 30 spot if he decides he wants to be around the club another year.
What I mean is he hasn’t “retired” yet as basically his payout to not take up the option in full

Off the bench?

Funnily enough the merkin that scored a double against us on the weekend played Ball against MA and now is miles ahead of him in development.
He's probably not miles ahead, they were on par last year in reserve grade. Arthur is just stuck behind two pretty good hookers at Newcastle, while Pattie only has Starling in front of him.

Or just f**ks us of money for top 30 spot in 2026 as well as the spot itself, as if Lane activates/takes up that option there's no guarantee the guy will even get on the field...

In terms of timing seems he baulked at being dropped to Cup, and unsourced mental health suspicions aside, maybe is just being a bit of an RLPA merkin about it and milking us while he uses to paid time off to set up his next career?

The real question is do they actually watch and learn what other clubs do, seems so reactionary and the club ends up behind the 8 ball. The fact that it’s discussed for almost the last 10 years, really tells us what their ability is.

Big clubs and we are by most metrics , do big things and employ the best, enough said.
Are you not happy with any of our signings this year?

No Pattie is miles ahead....

He will also be playing behind one of the Hookers that's infront of MA next year bet he isn't stuck in CUP.

I don't think any coach is sacked for lack of knowledge, it's always about their relationships. I doubt it's a coincidence that we got rid of Gutherson and RCG after rissoling their old coach.
Will be interesting to see if BA replaces O'Brien at the Knights end of season to join his sons, and his son-in-law. They'll be the family club.

Good point. JAC for Sivo has been such a step up, I absolutely love JAC's energy which appears to be a selection criteria for Ryles.

Iongi for Gutho no contest. Iongi hands down has increased our pace in attack and looks a great prospect.

Hawkins has proved a very good backup half, the best we've had for some time.

Jack Williams for RCG again has way more energy though could do with better hands.

TDS looks great so far.

I always thought Dylan Walker was underrated and he's proven to be a mid season bolt from the blue, out of left field sensational purchase who turned our club's fortunes around.

Lomax, even if it was BA's missus that sold the deal has been one of the best buys we've had since Moses.

I've been mulling over Stevie's assertion "The growth of the Dogs is the Cinderella story that should be the Eels" and it's really got me perplexed.

What exactly constitutes a "Cinderella story"? If the Dog's story is a "Cinderella story" then all Ryles needs this year to get himself on the way is two more wins and buy the best prospective 9 going round. So, we just need two more wins from Knights, Cowboys and Bunnies to meet criteria #1 of this "Cinderella story".

Then the following year we need to buy the best edge forward in the comp, the NSW centre, the QLD #14, a cast of all-round forwards then scrape into the finals and bow out first round.

Maybe Stevie would be better off posting Daft Punk music videos instead of his asinine critiques of our recruitment and his hack assessment of a pack of overrated media darlings.
