Rd21 2025: Non Parra games

The Cheese recently said on that podcast with Graham how he hated coming up against Moses. He knew that Moses would keep booting the ball back no matter what Scum did to 10 metres of their goal line and they'd have to start all over again.

That talent alone makes Moses the most valuable player in the NRL today. On top of that he can at times be a fast paced genius with a penchant for sniffing out a try.
I don’t disagree regarding field position, and definitely has moments of genius, though how often has he won us a crucial match….finals games

I hope it's not because I'm half tanked on vodka but I feel our premiership window is open again from next year through to 2028.

If Mitch can remain injury free he's got a premiership in him now that we have a quality coach.

To demonstrate just how good a coach Ivan Cleary is here's a team that the NRL's salary cap has grifted from him/Penrith:

Fisher-Harris, Koroisau, Leniu
Capewell, Kikau
Hopgood

Katoa, Luai, Staines, Taylan May, Crichton, Turuva, Iongi

Egan
Terrel May
Hetherington
RCG

That's a premiership team yet I reckon this year's Panthers would beat them in a canter.

Ginane when he started on MMM would say "Parra are running from left to right on your dial".

Not, "Parra are running from the southern end" or at SFS "Parra are running from the Paddington end" . I wouldn't have a f**ken clue where the Paddington end is that a mardi gras reference?

All they have to do is keep the job simple like pretty much every other job: do what it says in the job description..

If I'm calling a game of NRL state who is passing to who, what side of the field it is and what the opposition are doing to counter-act the offense. Keep that up for all the game and when you get good at it add more descriptive terms and observations of what is actually happening, not tubas and strings.
There is a difference to calling the game on the radio, which Ginnane started out doing, and on TV.

On the radio you need to explain everything that is going in. On TV, the picture tells you most of the same commentary that is on the radio without actually saying anything.

Of course.

But it's a lot like this year's hottest 100 without the best of Eddie Current Supression Ring

Just a whole lot of banging and clanging of pots and pans while the real world goes on.

All we ask is they DESCRIBE it as it goes on.

They should have "described" over the top of that Veronica's song yesterday, that was voted in as the 3rd best Australian song ever...

From 2007 apparently, though I'd never heard of it then or even being played since!

An interesting question at this point is whether it was worth Manly going all in on DCE when they did 10 years ago, given he’ll leave the club without a premiership after his rookie season. And it’s not even a case of “they’ve always been competitive” - their performance over the last decade has been very patchy.

Tom T looks likely to join Hayne as another superstar who won’t ever win a premiership, too.

They didnt have a choice foran was leaving

Losing both would have been catastrophic.

DCE had them over a barrel.

In terms of Tommy gifted athlete but his personality and persona looks plastic and cranky.

Never looks happy and uptight.

Manly are now in there longest premiership drought which is now 14 years since they broke through in 1972.

I wouldn't be sad if they went 30-40 years without a premiership its what those north shore wankers deserve

I think that’s probably right, though now you’d have to look at the time since the Titans backflip as a lost decade for Manly. DCE was and remains a polarising figure, and I’m not sure they’ll ultimately be too sad to see the back of him. At least it gives them an opportunity to try to rebalance their salary cap for the first time in a long time (give or take a Trbojevic or two).

There extending both Jake & Tom.

I think this both sums it up the Turbos have too much influence there.

Ben is only there because of his name.

As someone told me tonight we are better off with Kautoga, Kelma & hopgood then Jurbo, Burbo & brother in law Corey Ploddell.
