Gee, I don't know about that. The Panthers players were standing still and Storm just milked a dive.

Even on challenge surely they should have owned up that Klein got that one wrong?

Ripped off from the win on that Harry Grant dive against a successful field goal.

And Panthers also would have won outright at 80mins if Talagi hadn't thrown his no look intercept....

It's the fact that Leota was in front of Cleary. You can't take a field goal shot standing behind a player. Grant diving highlighted that he was in the way, but it was an illegal play without Grant rolling around like an Italian footballer.

Correct call by the rules of the game. I'm glad they finally got pinged for it, because it's a tactic that Penrith have utilised previously and haven't been called out for it by the referees/bunker.

Nah, it was bullshit. If that's the rule, it has to change.

But I reckon it was just Klein not having the guts to call the obvious dive that wasn't even trying to get to the kicker, and the bunker protecting him...

If you watch the front on footage (not a still) Leota moved sharply to his left about 1/2m, and impeded Grant

yeah Granty boy milked it further, but if the defender just stood still , reckon that f/g is allowed..

Right call by the ref for mine.

Cracking game though

0 from 1 in the tips

Imagine if To’o had that kind of performance for our team tonight. He’d be getting ripped to shreds and called a midget.

If referees made the correct calls we’d see less diving. Last week cowboys player catches it on the inside shoulder and runs behind the lead runner, clear penalty by the rules. Would it have been given a penalty if Moses didn’t dive? Probably not.
Last night Leota stands in front of the kicker and takes a small step towards Grant. 100% Grant takes a dive. But if the rule is that you can’t stand in front of the kicker (I personally don’t like the rule, but Penrith have brought this on by continuously putting the equivalent of an nfl offensive line next to the play the ball to stop the marker) then it should be a penalty. Same with high tackles, if referees just penalised any high contact what reason would a player have to stay down?

Semi final like game intensity
Blaize pass turned game.
Edwards 2 costly mistake.

Field goal Leota does shift slightly 1/2mtr tbf but on the charge down attempt offside was missed.

I had to laugh when Grant made them flip again. Coin didn't flip enough

We are miles off the top sides and the scary thing is Dogs squads going to get even better. Penrith are in a mini rebuild.
Storm I dont think has even close to peaked.
Roosters,Warriors will be on the up as well.
Then there's Canberra still.

We probably need to focus on 2027/2028. Some of these sides may start to get hit by cap then.

Semi final footy that.

Storm were amazing considering they played without their halves.

The FG decision was spot on. Way too many escorts, blocks and disruptors in the game.

Coates was doing everything that Zac Lomax has been trying to do lately, only Zac comes up with errors.

A bit rich from Penrith fans complaining - McChin and co. are the reason this rule was brought in and Cleary literally got 2 penalties last week for diving when barely contacted whilst kicking. He's also on record as admitting he milks it as much as he can.

That being said, good game with semi-final intensity, but I really hope neither of these teams go all the way.

How good is the Riff salt today? Their whole empire is built on cheating. They don't win 2021 without it.

I reckon some of the young Raiders players in 2 years time will be expensive.

But I do like that we are waiting to sign elite rather than sign the likes of Andrew Davey, Lussick et al

Its because referees are too oblivious to a lot of stuff on the field that players find a way to exploit it. The amount of times the officials miss the obvious stuff is ridiculous.

Its interesting how Penrith are upset last night over the rule but they started it. So many times theyve had block players in front of the kicker, not just for field goals, it took Wayne Bennett to call them out.
