Awesome, that's a great positive for "the lads" to take into their off-season that starts from Monday...

Bunch of amateurs.

Yeah, they only started playing well when the pressure was off because the game was lost. Not one of the merkins stood up when it mattered and the game was alive.

Still can't handle pressure, nothing has changed

It's all good guys.

We did better than last year.

We might make a run at the eight as well next year.

We are a LONG way from a top four side.

Recruitment and retention needs to be reviewed once again to remedy that.

And it won't be a case of chasing DCE or Watmough because while we are also rans they will be pipe dreams.

I said it at the start of the year and I will say it again... We will never make the Top 8 whilst Sandow is part of this team. You can add Norman to that list now.

Every single player in the team generally does their job most weeks, week in, week out. But we fail to deliver more often than not because our halves fail to deliver what most of the halves in the NRL seem to be able to do, and that is get a result in the opposition 20.

We had plenty of chances in the first half and again for the first 10 minutes of the second half and the halves completely F#cked it up...

Last two weeks have tarnished a much improved season.

Anything less than finals next year is a massive, massive fail.

Nathan Peats injury really hurt us this year. DeGois did well, but he just isn't the winner Peats is.

Thats the thing - we really have played very consertively over the past few weeks - a big change from the "play whats in front of you" ethos from earlier in the year.

We stopped throwing the ball around when teams got wise to the fact that we shit ourselves when they rush up in our face.
Sandow and Norman have a lot to answer for in this regard.

They're all in it together. Arthur has to take some responsibility for not getting the team up two weeks in a row, surely?
Shared responsibility is how these weak merkins have gotten away with mediocrity for five years. It's how governments and corporations avoid accountability as well.

It was Arthur's first season, he's improved us from 16th to 9th on the ladder. His medium-term coaching career will live and die on results. How about show ponies and on field leaders like Hayne and Mannah take some criticism for once in their well-paid and cushy careers?

We over-hype these prima donna merkins when they really don't have heads or hearts to individually play consistent footy for 80mins, let alone to inspire their teamates to do so as well.

Agree with you there on all three counts fishy. With Peats we were going forward really well, and didn't have a replacement in the club and had to shop outside.

Pritchard anywhere near Peats as even a bench option for next year? Give me a break.

Yeah I have to agree.Sandow has been good this year but is hot and cold.In two games we should have won he could not control the game.

Norman hoppa lussick and Sandow would free up a lot of money. We can bag Morgan out but he wouldn't be on a lot and is playing as good as a guy that gets pai that amount.
There is around 2 million dollars with those four above and they should be week in week out our best players.Sandow atleast comes up trumps half the time.Just my opinion but id get rid of all of them

Hayne has to grow some balls, earn his high salary and learn how to be a hands-on playmaker, breaking tackles closer inside and/or putting other people into the clear. It is his future, whether he wants to keep bludging at fullback for the first 40mins of a game or not.

Imagine a spine (for 2016):
1. Hoppa
6. Hayne
7. DCE
9. Peats

None of this Norman/Sandow shit. But we would have to buy in some solid centre options as Champion and Morgan probably aren't enough on their own.

The facts are we didn't get three wooden spoons in a row and at least threatened for the 8. That's a massive improvement and I applaud everyone who helped us move forward.

Our defense was poor today, but really, our halves lost us this one. Way too much stop - start.

We're still a one man team in a way. Hayne just about did everything in the last 20 minutes and you just can't do that for a whole game. I'm not saying we don't have any other decent players, but we don't have any other game changers. If we took Hayne out of that game, we probably wouldn't have scored a single point.

They're all in together. Arthur is a young coach and I'm sure he has learnt a lot from the last two weeks. A lot of good young talent and I'd expect us to make the finals next season. We should have made the finals this year, but the fact we were in a position to play finals footy the last few years is a big improvement. And these blokes you call show ponies and prima donnas have been part of the big improvement
