Amazing to think MON couldnt get the Keaon deal over the line against this rabble

To be fair , his job is quite difficult considering we don’t have much to offer as a club. We don’t have a roster , coach , location , guaranteed success , or a post career pathway to assist with landing signatures.
We can offer , financial upgrades or a starting spot. If another bum club can do the same in a more favourable location, then an imposter like Rogers or MON will always struggle. Hence why a club in our predicament needs a serious credentialed recruiter or coach no matter what it costs to entice them.

Don’t get me wrong , I like Ryles’s passion, I feel he has the right mindset and desire to make us successful. I just have absolutely zero faith that our current set up can make us a top 4 club. I’d Be starting right now with the recruitment team , and the GM of footy. Our first hurdle is getting Ryles some troops. if our recruitment isn’t the worst in the comp by miles , I don’t know who’s is.

Let’s start by identifying who the bigger clubs are . I mean St Merge and a Newcastle managed to lure WB as an example that it can be done.
I guess it's possible to spend over budget for a few years, but that is unsustainable and potentially ruinous in the long term. St George was a regular finals team before signing Bennett (4 out of 6 years with Nathan Brown as coach). Since Bennett left, they have made the finals twice in 14 years. Newcastle was owned by pre-bankruptcy Tinkler when they got Bennett.
Wests got Cleary. It can be done , obviously execution is the key. they weren’t always a success .
Cleary was a nobody until his second stint at Penrith. He hadn't even won half his games, over a decade of results. He's a real comeback story. He owes everything to his son, including whatever he's squirreled away from his Panthers salary that is salary cap exempt. He owes that to his son and he will no doubt pay him back one day. Like a TPA with a very long tail.

If you dont have a link these are some serious allegations. Your suggesting rorting the cap mostly cause you got it wrong and are in whats known as ego protection mode.

Wonder what Keaons thoughts were after watching our squad and ambition, before his decision?

Answer: 200k extra per year + an extra year

I’m excited to be joining the Dragons. The club’s ambition really impressed me. I’ve been watching the squad they’re building and the young forwards coming through, and I want to be part of driving that next era. I’ve loved my time at Souths, but I am looking forward to bringing my experience, my standards and everything I’ve got to the Red V. - Keaon Kolomatangi
