Yeah we are passed it.

On 26 August 2004 at 11:30:36 (Canberra time), the resident population of Australia is projected to be:

20,170,469

This projection is based on the estimated resident population at 31 December 2003 and assumes growth since then of:

one birth every 2 minutes and 5 seconds,
one death every 3 minutes and 55 seconds,
a net gain of one international migrant every 4 minutes and 4 second leading to
an overall total population increase of one person every 2 minutes and 7 seconds.

Yeah, Sunrise had Bahamas at No.1 with one gold and something like 300k people.

Those stats were shown this morning, but they were calculated prior to us winning the 2 cycling gold medals last night, according to the Sunrise team.

table's based on current population - it probably wouldn't change much but a better way to do it would be by population per gold medal at the time the gold medal was won.

Although, at early Olympics the home nation had a huge advantage as travel was difficult

Hey Johnsy . . .

Just out of curiosity, where did you get the country's population figures from?
