Bulldogs and Eels members have today snapped up more than 12,000 tickets in the biggest Club Member pre-sale in history with demand outstripping the first day of 2009 Grand Final Club Member ticket sales.

While plenty of seats will be available when tickets for Friday night’s blockbuster at ANZ Stadium go on sale to the general public at 9am tomorrow, Tuesday, September 22, fans are reminded that Category 1 tickets will be limited.

MyNRL members will also have access to an exclusive pre-sale period from 9pm tonight through to 7am tomorrow morning.

As of 5pm today, 12,500 tickets had been sold to Eels and Bulldogs Club Members – and in a sign that their rivalry is just as close off the field, the split between fans today in designated supporter bays was 51% Eels and 49% Bulldogs.

“It is great to see Bulldogs and Eels members making the most of their membership privileges through this pre-sale period and I encourage fans of both clubs and the game in general to get in early tomorrow and get the best seats to one of the biggest finals matches Sydney has ever seen,” NRL Chief Executive, Mr David Gallop, said today.

“The demand for tickets in Melbourne has also been encouraging.

“Everyone remembers the match between the two clubs in Brisbane last year and with a grand final berth on the line the support of fans will be crucial for both teams.”

More than 14,000 tickets have also been sold for Saturday night’s Preliminary Final between the Storm and Brisbane Broncos at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium, with tickets having been on sale since late last week.

Tickets for the Storm-Broncos match are on sale now through Ticketmaster by calling 13 61 00, online at www.ticketmaster.com.au or at Ticketmaster outlets.

Tickets for the Bulldogs-Eels match are available through Ticketek on 132 849, at Ticketek outlets or online at www.ticketek.com.au.

The schedule for Week 3 of the NRL Telstra Premiership Finals is as follows:
1st Preliminary Final: Friday, Sep 25 - ANZ Stadium, Sydney
NRL: Bulldogs v Parramatta Eels, 7:45pm
Toyota Cup: St George Illawarra Dragons v Wests Tigers, 5.30pm
Arrive Alive Cup: Matraville Sports High v Keebra Park State High School, 3.35pm

2nd Preliminary Final: Saturday, Sep 26, - Etihad Stadium, Melbourne
NRL: Melbourne Storm v Brisbane Broncos, 7:45pm
Toyota Cup: Melbourne Storm v Brisbane Broncos, 5.30pm

The worst thing for the storm is that the match is on AFL Grand Final day, unlucky I know, but perhaps they may get a few extra in after the game across town.

wasn't Gallop the one who said playing after the AFL GF was a positive?

how is it a positive when the only promotion that week would've been for the AFL?

at least have the game the day after..

being on sale since late last week, 14k is rather poor.. hopefully it can reach 25k

I think it will, the AFL grand final will be finished by the time the game starts no? Plenty of people might come across from the MCG?

Most won't even hear about it

What a load of sh*t. There'll be at least one page every day leading up to the game just as there was today so anyone who reads the paper will see it. I also have no doubt there'll also be a few reports in the sports bulletins during the week as well. Of course it won't get near the coverage of the GF but it's not like it'll get no coverage so hardly anyone will hear about it.

ANZ also holds 18k seats for members Im not sure how many members they have, but I would assume it must be around 18k. So if they are all planning on going we could actually already be at 30k

The ANZ Stadium Members' Reserve is located in the Western Stand. 18,400 seats are held for Stadiium Members across Levels 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6, with access to exclusive Members facilities on event days included Lounges, Restaurants and Bars. ANZ Stadium Club operates a unique Rotation seating system to allocate Member seats for all reserved Events to ensure all Members have the opportunity to be seated throughout the Reserve. The good thing about the members section at ANZ is unlike the SFS and SCG the members tickets are 100% transferable. So if the member cant go he/she can give their ticket to anyone they like.

Still I wouldnt expect it to be 100% full. My guess is there will be about 10K there.

Ahh i'm so annoyed, my father has the passes and he chooses not to give them to me, even though he isn't going, hows that for trust.

This game is shaping as one of the biggest in recent years.

Asside, I actually think it is good that the storm game is the same day as the AFL final.

We are taking rugby league right to the heart of afl with a blockbuster game on their biggest day in their biggest city.

Well, his personal assistant has worked long and hard for those tickets.

Don't begrudge him the perks of having your dad as a sugar daddy.
