Red Hot Chili Peppers To Tour Australia

August 17 2006

The ¼ Australian (yeah, we're *that bad* with claiming international acts as our own) hyper mega huge rock and roll goliaths, Red Hot Chili Peppers, have announced they will return to our shores in April.
So far, shows have been announced in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney in smaller venues than their last tour four years ago.
The band is touring their latest record, 'Stadium Arcadium', which debuted at number one in three thousand, seven hundred and fifty six countries worldwide.
In true rock 'n' roll fashion, visa card holders will be the first Peppers fans to buy tickets when they go on presale from 9am, August 28 to 5pm, August 30… from www.visaentertainment.com.au.
Those of you who don't like to mix your financial dealings with your rock musings can buy tickets from the usual outlets from September 1.
Dates are:
April 7 - Entertainment Centre, Adelaide
April 10 - Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne
April 13 - Entertainment Centre, Brisbane
April 16 - Acer Arena, Sydney

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is anyone aware of this tour? I heard that all the tickets all over Australia will be sold out within the first 20-30 minutes of sale opening. Wouldn't be surprised though, this is most likely their last ever tour of Australia. Any opinions?

Agree with that, f**k they mellowed out after BSSM, I found it quite boring TBH, then again though, I was never really a big fan of RHCP.

Have you heard disc 2 of the new album or are you just jumping to conclusions based on other people's reviews.

Yeah, I thought as much.

their latest album is an absolute orgasm to anyone's ears. it's a combination of styles from all their albums with that little bit extra on top that makes it so great.

I was so disappointed with Californication and went right off these guys, but I must admit their new cd is a big improvement.

Dunno if I will be able to get to the shows though. Why oh why does Eric Clapton, Michael Franti, G.Love AND RHCP have to tour at the same time. *annoyed*

Aussie summers do rock, but combine all of those with the Woodford Folk Festival and you are looking at well over four digits.

How could you not have know Clappers was touring? There's adverts for it all over Brisbane - I figured it would be like that all over the country.

I personally got into them after Californication and also enjoy their old stuff. I don't see what's so bad about One Hot Minute which came after BSSM even for you hardcore alternate / hard rock enthusiasts? I don't find it to be mellow. Then again I like a mixture of hard and soft sounds because I have varied tastes.

I agree By the Way wouldn't appeal to keen RHCP fans from way back. I enjoyed about half of By the Way but certainly am a big fan of Readymade and Storm in a Teacup from Stadium Arcadium.

Thanks for the scoop!
