Can someone check that first bulldogs try it seems that they scored on more than 6 tackles . On the tv it shows 4th tackle stuck on the screen i could be wrong but thats what was showing.

The one thing I hate more than losing close games is losing to a dud call. I'd really like to know our win/lose record under Atkins....in all fairness, a draw would have been fair. The positive is we gave the Bull*ogs a hell of scare - and that with a rooky halfback and more than few players that haven't played for4-6 months! Dumb moments aside, if we can play with the same intensity displayed today for most of this season, we have as good a chance of any as making the playoffs. The only way we are going to shake off the easybeats rap is to win but we need to keep our cool!

I'd rather lose by plenty then today's result.

Mate it wouldn't surprise me. I feel so deflated after that loss but we have to look at the positives almost every fan on social media agrees we were robbed of a 50/50 game. They got it done with 10 seconds to go unfortunately but for round 1 we look like we have some resolve in us. We need to take what we can from that and hopefully whip the storm next round like we done early last season

Interesting take but we could lose by plenty and have the ref against us all game as well, I feel like we done a great job up against it. Wish we got the 2 points or even 1 but that's golden point and our team had a crack and plenty of chances to ice that game but unfortunately we didn't great learning

Absolutely disgraceful one sided rulings the whole game.

Cooper Cronk made a good point that our pack & imo our team isn't athletic. I think we're lacking lateral speed & general leg speed across the ground, we've got powerful players but not explosive players who have the combo of power & athleticism. I think with the new rules & also 6 again instead of a penalty will lend to mobile running game styles being effective.

Atkinson's long kicks were pleasing to see, but his running game was non-existent.
Holmes was not fit enough to be selected on that side.
I'd say our forwards more than matched the Dogs' forwards.
Suli just is not a good center anymore.
The refereeing was very poor.

We hung in there and were very gritty. We’ve seen this before under Flanagan over the last few seasons, we then oddly turn up the next week and got a score put on us. Hopefully it’s different season, if we can hang in for most games this season as we did today, surely we win at lest 50% of our games.

Holmes was definitely carrying an injury. He was hesitant all game, Suli isn't a centre he should either play as a big minute middle or find another club. Very disappointed he looks so fit but plays in slow motion especially in D. I think Reed will be our starting 7 from 2027 and a full year in reserve grade will do him wonders.
