Reddy or not: Eels centre out for the year

Parramatta have confirmed centre Joel Reddy will miss the rest of the NRL season after undergoing surgery.
The experienced Eels back injured his left pectoral muscle in last week's loss to North Queensland.
As expected, he's fallen victim to the worst case scenario of not playing another game in 2011.

Parramatta are already struggling for depth in the outside backs, with Reddy's injury compounded by winger Etu Uaisele suffering rib cartilage damage in last week's NSW Cup match - ruling him out for six weeks.
The news will be even tougher to take for Reddy, who is off contract at the end of the year and would have been counting on driving up his value over the course of the season.
The Eels are rumoured to be on the verge of signing Gold Coast centre Esi Tonga for next year and beyond.
In more positive news for the struggling Eels, former international Reni Maitua will make his formal return from a drug suspension on Friday.
Maitua will join his new team for his first day of training after a two-year ban.

Reddy may have played his last game for Parra, he's been a more than handy player for us over the years. Hardly the world beater some people on here think he has been. Either way i wish him all the best.

People are being too harsh on Reddy. Sure he's out of form but he's very good and reliable player for us over in his 7 years of first grade here. It's sad that some so called Eels fans aren't showing any sypathy to one of our players who's suffered a season ending injury.

Besides the fact he let in about 6 tries i have no idea..........

so he alone has cost us 120+ points in the past 3-4 floggings that the whole side has endured?

he also was the focal point (besides jarryd) of 3 tries we scored just last game.....plus the fact he played part of last week injured and came back from serious injury in the off-season

After Hayne put him in 3 yawning gaps helped score 3 tries. To bad he let in 4  And lets not forget his efforts against the Dragons. Look he has been a good player for us for a fair while but hardly the world beater everyone on here thinks he is. For the same price i'm sure we can do better and most worrying of all his game has gone backwards the last 18 months.

I think coaches have worked him out tbh, against quicker, fleet footed opponents Reddy has struggled. He always has been good at defending against hard running backrowers and centres but as soon as you stop or jink, Reddy immediately plants his feet and from there he is beaten.

Reddy needs to learn how to slide better, I still think he would be an excellent winger with his hight, speed and front on defense. I would have no issues with Reddy staying on and having him partner Tonga or Loko on the wing.

Agree, 7 years at a clube these days is a very good stint, and I have always considerd Reddy a "heart and soul" player, couple of years ago 09 were singing his praises and today is oh well who gives a toss, I think a sad endictment on Eels fans.
