TT is a great talent when the opposition has some weaknesses, Origin however is not forgiving of players that don't finish games as well as they start them. You don't take pure bred greyhounds pig hunting because they break easily, Tom's going to have to toughen up to play Origin

I'll just jump in again and post without the piss removed. If TT, or Tedesco for that matter, were to start an Origin game and finish it fit as a fiddle and full of running Qld would be hard pressed to win . . . how big is the 'if'

Been a long time since I saw such a pathetic kicking game from both teams. Bet no-one thought Kurt Mann would be best of 4 Halves when he came from Melbourne. The bloke's energy level is to be applauded

Crikey, some of the Warriors team that look like they don't want to be there is worrying. Hoffman looks as though he's had enough, Matulino doesn't look like he's interested in playing for anyone . . . good luck to the Tigers with that

Not going to bother with Wests/Broncos even if I paid to watch

Maybe it was too much Chivas Regal too early but my heart was warmed by Uate's prayers being answered, the lovable god-fearing bloke that tries as hard as he can to please is now in a place of appreciation . . . almost brought a tear.

At the same time NSW supporters would've been glad to see Hayne didn't take the same risks as Akuila, clearly worth more Jarryd did his best to save himself for games that matter. I wonder, does Laurie consider 'extended' squads, he could add Jarryd and like Kevvie make Origin a bigger f**king joke than it already is . . . do Henry a favour

Moses did enough didn't he, turning up would have been difficult enough without imagining he would walk on water. He didn't do any more or less than French who I don't consider a Fullback. Arthur imo is stuck between a rock and a hard place, he has the game's 4th best half in Norman but a team in waiting.

Not Brad's fault that he is forced to use an icon like Mannah, a Winger that would rather be in a union, a fascinating Winger out of position, a 5/8 that is a better Fullback . . . and so on and so on. All because Norman looks and sounds like a Harley but is only as reliable

Shit, I almost forgot Sticky . . . you got the win, you got the win

Hook and Dessie both have the same problem it seems, how to start the way they finish. If we as spectators aren't sure slow learning or opposition running out of puff is what we're watching spare a thought for the coaches

Seems the Roosters may have found another winner, bit early yet because Keary doesn't pace himself like Maloney The Saviour but he certainly gives Pearce a leg up and Jnr Jnr is finishing well. How f**king good has been the return of the attack coach for the Roosters . . . their defensive coach not so good

What can you say about Melbourne except they're leading the comp . . . if they excite they lose, bore they win. I was impressed by the Rabbitohs more than the Storm. Maguire may finally have both hands on the wheel again, his less than 80 Leprechaun still a gremlin in the works and Pommy handling aside Madge's mob are just that . . . maybe a rabble no more

Won't hear much about Origin from me except I'm happy the least number of Melbourne players involved the better. I can only hope NSW win the series in turn as it should be and the shit gets flushed away without staining the real RL season

All this made insignificant by Gagai leaving the Knights. Unlike Hayne made to look better because he was but a pimple on the acne face of Parramatta, Dane is a true 80 minute warrior Newcastle can't afford to lose. It's not so much the man himself but what he represents, inspiration doesn't grow on f**king trees

Just when the Knights looked to have grown a cult figure in Ross and be inspired by Gagai it all goes pear shaped. Maybe these blokes are asking too much, maybe the coach is either under powered or slap-happy, maybe the hierarchy is out of tune as is suggested by over-reacting to Ponga Promise . . . the whole joint is a little f**king wet behind the ears for my liking

Origin is a great concept rendered insidious by media driven scheduling, which makes the dysfunctional NRL even more hypocritical when their 'easy fix' badly designed salary cap is aided and abetted as clubs now pay for players they can't use. However, I say this every year and no matter how easily the irrational could be made rational . . . it is what it f**king is

The first of the games is hardly affected at all, Inglis and Jennings can't play for their State anyway and loss of stadium revenue in this one shouldn't be that great. Still, with the way Souths are playing and without the Norman inoculation the Eels look to be in for a bad dose of what ails

F**ked if I know who'd rock up to watch the Warriors play Broncos' Reserves . . . yes I do, RL supporters who don't give a shit about Origin like myself and are desperate for any kind of win . . . almost forgot it is a Warriors' home game. Hunt will still outsmart Johnson so it's not a sure thing

Could've been a lot worse for the Sharks, not as much of their cap going to waste as there may have been. The Dogs haven't lost anyone with brains but they're not expected to win anyway, I reckon the bookies underestimate Maloney's worth. Be interesting to see how many Sharkies supporters turn up this week

There's a lot to consider when the governing body of a sport is as inept as the NRL, whodathought Keary and Jason Taylor would've had the Roosters where they are, no-one's fault this game has degenerated from 'expected loss' to 'forfeit'. Sticky walking away a loser doesn't bear thinking about . . . then again, it would be par for the course this round

Most NRL players don't have time to address naivety, growing up with one thing on your mind means other things are put to one side. Jack Bird for instance is coming out with outrageous statements to the affect that Benny will make him 'a better player, better person' . . . hence the move to Brisbane

He doesn't know we know that's bullshit because he confuses the ability to play NRL with worldliness, he considers one of the Kardasian's the most beautiful girl in the world ffs. Not just Bird, supporters of RL need to understand how mentally underdeveloped many RL players are, not stupid, just not adequately educated in all things

Jack's already a great player and unless he has a skeleton in his Shire closet 'a better person' seems a little far fetched. Benny's not doing Jack a favour, it's vice versa, if Jack believes that he's worse than naïve. Nothing wrong with just speaking the truth, changing clubs for the money when their 'playing life' is equivalent to canine is not a sin . . . sometimes you want to give players a big hug and tell them all's well

Vibes have always been a mainstay of mine when trying to guess how teams will play week to week, rarely do I rely on what happened the week before, all goes out the window however when I actually bet on games. Same reason I never go in tipping competitions, accuracy runs second and weekends ruined when there is something to lose

I profess to be a RL man first and foremost with the only team I show any allegiance to now the Melbourne Storm, for reasons that date back to the club's beginning. If I survive only the next few years imo it will be enough to see me become a RL teetotaler, abstaining from indulging in one team before others . . . because the vibes I'm getting now I'm prepared to bet on

Melbourne is preparing for life after Bellamy, which means the club may very well take the easy road travelled by the rest, which means every club in the NRL to me will be equally interesting . . . nothing more, nothing less. Not a big f**king deal to me, I wish almost every club well because they all need to do well for RL to prosper.

Melbourne however will always be a monolith, just as the Broncos/Roosters/Seagles/Dogs are, their owners will make sure of that. Which means all the people that denounced Melbourne for trying to keep the players they grew will now have to live with another vulture club . . . perched high just waiting instead of working for a meal

It is Origin time so forgive me for the above, it kinda fits in with the mood for this time of year. So the question is which player requisitions will see me distance myself from Melbourne, will the Sharks be the first to suffer . . . Maloney is a true mercenary and wouldn't it be ironic to see him back where he always thought he belonged

There you go, referee knee jerking to forward pass directive and Bunker Bullshit aside, the Eels look to be back on track. Might have something to do with Moses providing an alternative to nothing at all and buttering up Radradra with 'all is forgiven' but Parra need to apply 'rip-shit-or-bust' to all their games

When Johnson earns his money, the rest follow suit and Kearney/McNamara/Jones appear to know what they're doing . . . it's as simple as that, win or lose, no matter what the opposition

Shaun has spent most of the season playing nothing like he played yesterday, most of the year the media have excused him because it sells to do so, today it sells to write the magic has returned. Everybody, including yours truly, will be hoping for a Warriors reincarnation, not just as an aberration, not just NZ's version of Origin Time

Then we have Gal, the bloke the media can make a quid out of for the same reason all year, the only supporters who give a shit are those of the team he plays for and he's not f**king pretty to look at. If he made one tenth the mistakes or held back like Shaun does/did he'd be tarred and feathered

I reckon its funny that as many people want Shaun to stand up as there are that want Gal to fall down . . . the world works in mysterious ways

Here I am in the early hours up for a leak, can't go back to sleep, that's just about all the scenario the Roosters/Raiders game deserves if you are a RL purist. If you don't care that Sticky's mob should've annihilated the Roosters Reserves but didn't and like to watch any footy if it's exciting . . . well, it was a great game

Truth is it doesn't matter if the Raiders have trouble getting up for games 'they can't possibly lose', the problem should be fixable if Sticky's coaching comes along the way we want . . . Rome wasn't built in a day. There was something far more important than a game of footy going on in Canberra last night

If Canberrians aren't disillusioned by the close shave and continue to embrace their team like the Viking tribes of old it will be f**king glorious to have a true culture evolve in the joint. If the team can shake it's lethargy and they all play like Rapana, if Sticky picks it up a little more . . . we could have a venue where the NRL will be forced to send decent referees

No ol'mate, only way I'd give up the comfort of home is if an NRL team relocated to this side of the Bluey's. If Penrith officially made Bathurst their second home like the Dragons do with Illawarra and played a reasonable amount of games there I'd consider buying a jersey and turning up

Not sure about Hook or Jabba, if Bellamy returned to the Bathurst area where he was born and bred and coached your mob I'd definitely make it my mob
