Shane Hayne and Manly have kept a clean sheet again after last nights match against the Panthers.
It was not just Stewart deliberately knocking the ball forward that he chose to ignore it was some other crucial decisions.

Hayne had another immediate impact on the game when he called back a Panthers movement leading to a try in which he and only he saw a forward pass..the result was possession to Manly, another couple of quick penalties to Manly and they are in for try and the score goes to 12-0.

Manly have had Hayne at least 6 times this season and have not lost a penalty count and have been the benificiaries of a number of 5th tackle penalties which gives almost unstoppable momentum to a team.

As the semis approach the other coaches will point this out to the referees panel and ensure another ref is given to Manly matches so as possession can at least be squared.

That was a terrific cutout pass. I understand refs make mistakes sometimes, it wasn't even close to being forward though. It wasn't even close to being lineball. It was just a bloody good pass. I can understand refs make mistakes, but that has to be the worst call of the year so far.

Hayne's performance did not cost us last night - we did that ourselves.

I was filithy though when Graham's pass was called back - it was an absolutely superb pass that found his man. Who knows if we would have scored off that play or set, but there was a two on one situation if play was allowed to go on...

Whoever called it forward needs their eyes checked.

Wade Graham has a brilliant passing game though. Brad Tighe was a fair distance behind him, and it hit it's mark perfectly. Had Luke Lewis attempted that pass, it would have travelled forward, but Brad Tighe wouldn't have managed to come close to catching that pass.

As for the point of the thread... i think the point is while Manly are the most penalised team in the NRL, when Shane Hayne is the referee that changes. They had a lot of wrong decisions go in their favour, which is undeniable. Although Manly probably could have won comfortably regardless of those decisions... they sure as hell helped.

Have Manly won a game fairly this year? We're at the top of the table yet we seemed to have done it all on the back of biased refereeing and arsey tries. That's the impression you'd get if you didn't watch any of the games and just read this forum, btw.

No disrespect to the Panthers and discounting the forward pass call, the Eagles deserved to win, Hayne or no Hayne. To good for them on the night.

Stop whinging, Manly cop as many bad calls througout the year as every other team. Your team the sharks beat us in the first round after we were disallowed a completely fair try by the video ref, however Manly played poor that night and the sharks were better so we copped it on the chin. Penrith did not deserve to win last night and no refereeing call lost that match for them.

, even muppets like yourself normally check up a couple of facts before posting garbage

The times Manly have had Hayne this season

Round 3 v Souths at Brookvale , Pen 8-8
Round 5 v Parramatta at parra, Pen 7-1 Parramatta
Round 9 v Brisbane at Suncorp, Pen 8-4 Brisbane
Round 13 v Roosters at Brookvale, Pen 7-6 Manly
Round 14 v Cowboys at Bluetongue, Pen 9-6 Manly
Round 21 v Penrith at Brookvale, Pen 7-7

The Maths is pretty simple, but you may need help so i will provide it, they have only won 2/6 penalty counts under Hayne

Better luck next time champ

Looking at final penalty counts is pretty meaningless.

The penalty count may have finished 7-7, but the reality is the game was over when Manly led 18-0, at which time the penalty count stood at 5-1 to Manly.

And all 5 of those penalties were fair calls. The penalty count built up for us at the start because we had all the ball because we capitalised on our opportunites and scored.
