Reflecting on 2016

You can't know for sure either way. They might have looked great at the back end of the season against the poor sides.

Segeyaro on the bench instead of Hardaker. Soward having Moylan and Cleary taking pressure off him and Cartwright playing his natural game.

I doubt much changes. We probably win the same games. Lose the same ones. The main difference is while doing that we were also building towards 2017. Segeyaro could have had a few years in him if he got his head on straight . But Soward definitely didn't.

The finals series should do a lot to help our young guys. Experiencing a win and a loss. Seeing how hard teams will come at you. Learning that you need to make the most of your chances etc.

I think its good for them to have lost the way they did. They were gutted and thats going to be the motivation to improve.

Great year. I think people are still disappointed from Saturday night which is tainting their current opinion of the year as a whole.

We had a month of bad/horrendous footy mid year, other than that we were entertaining and exciting to watch. The start (even though we didn't get the results) was good, the backend even better. Griffin deserves a lot of praise.

Can't wait for 2017.

regardless. We would still be looking for our long term halves. Now we have 3/4 spine set and a half that could be our's for 10 years certainly better off

The second half of the year was outstanding (with the restructured team). The best thing is the potential of that team playing a full season together on the back of a strong off season. They are all pretty much signed up for the next few years so this is it guys, this is the team that does actually have the potential to win a comp.

Biggest disappointment was the Cronulla game at home and the Storm away.

The bar is set for next year, must be 6th or better but should be top 4 with this team + Tamau. I think a changing of the guard at the top of the ladder with teams like Cowboys (Thurston) and Melbourne with ageing rosters and players on the back end of their careers. Canberra, Penrith, Cronulla to be up there, all playing a new open style of football.

A year that started out frustrating to watch which lasted to round 19 V Parra 2nd half. Then the rest of the year turned in to a delight to watch.
I am pleased Wallace did so well this year and proved a lot of doubters wrong when it looked like he would be shoved out of the club.
I am pleased new buy Merrin played so well and he is enjoying his time here.

I hope we can build on this and come this time next year we are still alive for right to claim the 2017 crown.

I think the title is wide open next year. Storm lose Green but will be up there. Sharks lose Ennis. Cows will be thereabouts. But other than that it's pretty open and I really think if our spine fires attacking wise we have a real shot. We have the ability to lock down a Top 4 spot if we are good enough.

Overall a solid year. A number of good young rookies debuted. Had a clearout of players. Won a finals game, we were right in the next game but came up against a great side whilst reverting to our form from June/July. Looking likely to win the U20s or at least make the GF. Won the club championship. Can't complain.

I'm still annoyed we persisted with Cartwright at half. Increasingly throughout the end of the season and especially in our 2 finals matches I found I was excited when Cleary or Moylan got the ball but concerned when Cartwright had it in hand. A not insignificant number of his rubber attempts on the opposition goal line were woeful.

It doesn't really matter though. I didn't expect us to get this far this year and I know he won't be in the halves next year so whatevs. Overall not too shabby at all.

We did ok after the inconsistent start to the year. The SF against the Raiders was a disappointing way to end our year.
Next year I will have bigger expectations.

We won 6 in a row Before Canberra game scoring 36 a game. Hardly going to change that once it was firing

Carty had some good games over that time and the team overall was playing well so I can see why he wasn't moved once that had happened. Lets just hope its all put to bed now and Carty goes to the backrow and Moylan to the halves. With the form Cartwright has been in if we had a game next week id bench him.

Carty's form dropped big time over the last month. Form wise He'd start off the bench round 1. Though given how his last 2 seasons have ended He's still far better off then to end 14 and 15

Agree his form definitely dropped over the past month. A few moments of magic but nothing destructive like earlier in the year.

Yeah I agree, I don't think we have hurt his development but he does seem a little lost at times and at other times looks like he is trying to hard. I think in the long run he will benefit from the experience but for next season I hope he spends the year in the forwards

1st time he has played a full season. I just put it down to that. i think even Hiku will play 5/8th before he does again. We had a heap of backrowers and no backs so he was moved.

Great year.
Lost starting centres who are great players, lost your starting props who would of helped team.TMM injured as was just settling in.
Soward and segyaroo left mid season.Still made finals. I think the coach showed real balls with his decisions. Moving moylan to halves and finding a fullback would of been to risky late in season.
How many of these players are at peak? Not many on decline.

My question is.Peachey looks great in centre, so does blake. So where do you fit hiku and whare in?
