I wish to acknowledge those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in serving our great country, Australia.
My father flew 34 operations with Bomber Command in WW2, out of East Kirkby, Lincolnshire in England.

He survived but many didn't, infact, two out of every three from Bomber Command crew member, didn't.
We salute them all, all the those who served us, in all services and the allied nations, in all wars.

They may be gone but never forgotten.

Thanks for sharing your memories OKB1 , the family must had been very proud of your father . My Dad was also in the R.A.A.F. and served in New Guinea for a short period before illness overtook him . Still most proud of him and all who gave so much for the rest of the country.
