A few months ago, League Fraud made the following "expert" conclusion on Penrith's performance this season:

There's no mystery to it -- 2003 and 2004 were abberations. They have now resumed their normal position on the ladder.

So with two rounds left to play, the Panthers currently being level with the Roosters on 22 points and barely a mouses fart between the two clubs when you look at for and against... Would you consider the Roosters season thus far an "abberation"??

You've got to be kidding!

the audacious comment that idiot made months ago deserves all the ridicule under the sun!

Especially when his own club has won just as many games as mine!

League Fraud's a total coward. Notice how quiet he's been?? Where's all the tough talk now Fraudie??? :-&

He's far too busy attending Swans home games with his mate Cockburn.

Helps to follow a second code when you're a Roosters supporter.

I wonder if he considers the Rabbithos beating his boys by one point an "abberation" as well?

RLF, he is probably hiding in the cupboard watching old Futurama reruns batting over Leila. Or watching swannies games....

How dumb are you, Pantherjim?! Roosters have been semi finalists for nine years running, and this year they aren't. That's an abberation, all right! Look it up in the dictionary.

Whereas with the Panthers, I prediced they'd resume their normal place on the ladder (ie. towards the bottom), in 2004. I was only one year out ... Here we in 2005 and the Panthers are ... almost on the bottom.

Note that I also said at the start of the year that the Roosters would finish between eighth and tenth. Any old fool knew they'd be a rabble this year.

Seems like my track record is pretty good!

So when do we finally get to see you choke on your 10 gallon stetson League Fraud??

Obviously your track record for the 2004 prediction was pretty poor. Show us what little dignity you have left and honour your promise.

 Sarcastic and Creative wit/humour is totally wasted on the overtly arrogant and incredibly stupid.

Let me ask you this genius: If your beloved Roosters fail to make the top 8 for the next decade will you still be arrogant and dellusional enough to still assume it is an "abberation"?? More importantly, will you still follow them??:-k

Get your hand off it! You were arrogant enough to say, and I quote: "If Penrith make the top 8 in 2004 I'll eat my hat!" - We not only made the eight but made the top four and were one game away from a Grand Final Berth. - Face it, You had Egg on your face, crisped and sunny-side-up. You made yourself look like a wanker of the highest order as you have on numerous occassions on this forum. As Big Panther Cool has said, we're still waiting for you to dine on that 10 gallon Stetson.

You're saying that they were every bit as reliant on Fittler as Newcastle are on Johns??

Or, you're saying that with a stack of internationals (at least 5 off the top of my head) origin players (again, at least 6) and other reps (8+) Ricky Stuart is not a good enough coach to get his squad to fininsh 8th or better in a 15 team comp???

At a guess, not often the last 3 premiers (+ the other GFlist) finish out of the semis - Penrith aren't the only team that's done very badly this year...

I think it's disingenous of people to make A-B assumptions. I thought the Roosters would struggle this year for a number of reasons. Primarily because of Brad Fittler's retirement, yes. But also the fact that our back row (previously one of our major strengths) is now poor (Fitzgibbon two years passed his best; Ricketson finished; Crocker unhappy; Flannery injury prone or playing in the backs). I also thought losing two grand finals had to take its toll (I know that as a fan I hard a hard time getting excited about this season). All these factors combined. It smelled like disaster, and so it's been.

It doesn't matter how many internationals you have in the team; if the chemistry is not right, you're not going to succeed. Brisbane have a team of internationals and state players, yet they haven't won a premiership since 2000. Is that a reflection of Wayne Bennett's coaching? Well, maybe. But I tend to doubt it. Same with St George. A lot of things have to go right for you to win the premiership.

But why am I even wasting my breath, 99% of you aren't mature enough to understand these things.

I'll sit back now and wait for the silly, sarcastic replies. I think I've counted half a dozen rational arguments on LU since it began. The rest of it sounds like the school playground.

Never mind RLE, the Swannies are going ok so life isn't all bad for you.

heard of parsimony? the simplest answer is almost always the best. Your pompous and long-winded reply simply confirmed by two alternatives - that without Fittler they're not flash, and Ricky Stuart is an overrated coach - remember the coach needs to create an environment in which players do well - patently he hasn't done that

Have you all noticed that Renowned League Fraud is avoiding the issue of honouring his bet of "eating his hat"?

He can't comment, because the poor fool's been shown up for the dimwit that he is.

C'mon League Fraud. Give us the final chapter in your sad story of stupidity and tuck into that hat like you said you would.

"Long-winded"? Well, do the facts matter or not?

The simplest answer is often the best, but not always. Football can get pretty complicated.

If you think the only reason for the Roosters failure this year is because of Brad Fittler and Ricky Stuart, well, there's not much I can do for you.

I don't know what you want from me -- should I defend Ricky Stuart? Talk up Brad Fittler? What is it you want me to say? The Roosters are sh*t? I don't think anyone needs reminding of that. I knew they'd be sh*t before a ball was kicked in 2005.

But what I'm suggesting is that in my opinion there are multiple reasons for a bad season. Injuries. Suspensions. Lack of continuity in the halves. Lack of desire. In inability to close out games (7 losses in the last twenty minutes). Any number of reasons.

Obviously you don't like Ricky Stuart. So you choose to put the Roosters failure to make the semi finals, down to that one thing. That's your business.

But I think it's pretty simple-minded.

The thing I hate about the league forums is that the arguments are always so weak, and driven by silly prejudices; it's always centred around abuse an ad hominom attacks.

I don't like VFL, in fact I hate it, but a friend of mine a few months ago directed me to a VFL forum, and I couldn't believe how much more sophisticated the conversation was. Are Victorians +really+ that much smarter than us?

Why can't we have those kinds of discussions on LU, where the debates are lively but everything is civil and well thought-out?

Food for thought?

Since you continuously side-step the promise you made in 2004 League Fraud, I'm issuing you a challenge.

If you don't follow through with your promise of "eating your hat if Penrith makes the Top 8 in 2004", then can you officially change your log in name to Renowned League Fraud?? You've proven over the last year or so that you're no expert in the field of Rugby League and you've also proven to be a man of no honour.

How about it League Fraud?

You know that he won't do it B.P.C. he's far too arrogant and up-himself to admit that he's wrong. Even though he's been shown up for the true wanker that he is.

In any case he still hasn't answered my questions. Perhaps because deep down, the answers scare him rigid!

I don't suppose I ever will get answers will I League Fraud?
