Return of the voluntary tackle penalty

The are completely unrelated. The penalty wasn't even remotely relates to voluntary tackle. Farnsworth is not allowed to dive in the ball in the ruck, that rule makes sense otherwise you would have markers diving for the ball constantly.

Yes Mahoney was a voluntary tackle, but they haven't called this in 20 years
I like it if there's no dummy half at home, why shouldn't the defending team be allowed to take advantage of that?

Obviously you shouldn't be allowed to every single tackle, but there's sometimes the opportunity when someone makes a break and the support is too slow to get there for the play-the-ball.

They can take advantage, by picking the ball up.

Yeah the OP is def not going on about a standard voluntary tackle that we all know.

Does anyone remember the blatant Darren Lockyer example, maybe in his last year or so, he had no where to run, and nobody running off him so he just jumped to the ground. Penalty any day of the week but wasn't blown.....
