Reverse lyrics/subliminal messages

When I was young, my older borther used to pull apart casettes and turn the heads over the hear music backwards.

From what I can remember, there was a Crowded House and Queen song that both had backwards messages if you listened hard enough.

I think the Queen song was Another one bites the dust and the reverse lyric was "It's fun to smoke marijuana". :lol:

Does anyone have any other examples or was it all a record company ploy?

People listen to stuff backwards and convince themselves that they're hearing something. When it's backwards, it's amazing how easily you can convince somewhone that they're saying "yadda yadda yadda".

One of the coolest backwards things I can remember was by a Canadian band called Klaatu. They had a song (I think it was Silly Boys [or syob yllis] off Sir Army Suit) and pretty much the entire thing is one of their earlier songs completely in reverse. It has lyrics, too! :lol:

According to the christian nutbags in the US that used to moan about rock music all the time in the 1980s every second hard rock and metal song had a backwards message in it. If you listen to "Stairway to Heaven" backwards you can hear the words "my sweet satan"if you listen closely enough. But then again it could "buy sweet rasins" or "sly creep Latham", or pretty much anything!
One track that definitely does have a backwards message is the intro to Slayer's "Hell Awaits" which is "Join us, join us, join us....." repeated backwards for about 40 seconds. Its hardly hidden though.

There is also a backwards message at the beginning of Iron Maiden's "Still Life" off the"Peice of Mind" album.
The message is actually Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain speaking in a thick accent (actually doing his impression of Idi Amin Dada) and saying:

Hmm, Hmmm
What ho sed de t'ing wid de t'ree bonce
Don't meddle wid t'ings you don't understand.
<belch>

This essentially means: "What ho said the monster with the three heads, don't meddle with things you don't understand." The message is mainly intended for the religious bigots who had condemned the band as devil worshippers.

Those comics are fakkin hilarious. Impelliteri, I take it you're a christian? I can't see how you'd actually get offended by those sites otherwise, they're too laughable to be offensive.
