omg - wow!

Ok - "the notebook" is a new movie that just got released yesterday. Directed by Nick Cassavetes this is the AMAZING story of a first love. It is based on the book by Nicholas Sparks (who wrote 'message in a bottle' and 'a walk to remember') and in accordance with those novels/movies, this is truly beautiful emotive story that really touch you.

Starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as Noah and Allie, the young couple in love, they really grasp you in and every inch of the movie is believeable (except a flock of geese at the very start, hahaha)

I was so massively impressed and so bawlled my eyes out. Take tissues. And not just the girls, there was boys in the cinema and they were crying as well. It is a truly beautiful timeless story really touches your heart. You will laugh, you will cry, you will love it

And i just have to say that I am totally impressed by Rachel McAdams versatility. Her previous roles include the biatch in 'Mean Girls' and the lead blonde the 'The Hot Chick'. I didn't twig it was her until after the movie but wow, that girl can act

seriously people, five thumbs up

take tissues

I should also mention the amazing acting by James Garner and Gena Rowlands (who is actually Nick Cassavetes mummy)

oh, everyone was amazing, love love love it

I have been also talking to a friend who read the book first and unlike other adaptations of Nicholas Sparks novels, this one apparently isn't very true to the book.

Either way - it is a beautiful story and I defiantely recommend seeing it. And if you have read the book - just remember it is only "based" on the novel, its still a beautiful story even if it isn't exactly like the book

Sappy.

It is an unabashed tear-jerker. While that will undoubtably appeal to some viewers, I still found it to be a maudlin sap-fest that overwhelms the fine cast and reduces many of their scenes to sheer manipulation, not illuminating drama.

It is a question of tone and how you react when the tragedy sets in. Scenes that will induce some viewers to collapse in tears left me cringing. While others bought into the conceit, to me it felt forced, unreal, overcooked. Viewer beware.

I suppose I'll go and check it out. I did enjoy 'A Walk to Remember' (although that could be because of Mandy Moore's presence).

I like a movie that can invoke an emotional reaction. It's part of the reason I went into acting, and I can say that nothing is a bigger buzz than making an audience feel an emotion. Anger, hate, sadness... it's all great.

Feez- what kind of acting do you do? Part of a degree? Or just as a hobby?

Racheal McAdams is totally hotter than mandy moore

are you an actor too chriswalker?? cools!!! i totally agree about that buzz thing. It is the best feeling knowing you have so much power over someones emotions.

I've always been into acting. At the mo I'm doing an advanced diploma of acting. It's loads of fun. After that....I'm not too sure what i'm going to do, maybe another course, maybe move to sydney/melbourne/overseas. who knows
