I read where two Cronulla players, Rhys Lovegrove and Craig Preistly had stand out games for the U17 blues side, which beat Queensland 54-26. Lovegrove runs around in the Flegg team. Is Preistly in Matthews Cup?

Is Preistly in Matthews Cup?

SG Ball perhaps?
I know he goes to Endeavour

He's a gun and I hope he stays with us long term
He's been able to kick goals from the sideline since he was 12 years old

but, can he kick as good as us?
that is the test of the Sharks kicker isn't it.
if they can't kick better than you & me, than they can just f**k off.

Unfortunately I'd say yes he can
And during the league season he practices for hours just about every single day

Rimi Reweti is a Como junior who would be in the local Under 21 comp this year (turns 20 this year), if not playing Flegg. He was playing in the same age Group as David Simmons, Ben Yelavich, Cameron Ciraldo etc in his Junior Years.

He is a strong defender and is deceptively fast. Has been a standout in park football for many years, but always seemed capable of the next step. While I have'nt seen many of his Flegg games this year, I would not doubt his quality

Craig Priestly plays for Gymea in the Under 18 competition and is a first year player (turns 17 this year). This is also a great competition with the likes of Nathan Wynn, Zac Mullane running around in it. Priestly is very talented and it would'nt surprise me to see him put onto a small contract to keep him, if not alraedy done.

While I think the Sharks have just about identified most talent under 20 in the local comp, there are a number of players (21,22 etc) running around in Under 21 & A Grade comps who are more than capable of playing Premier league against some of the high priced imported failures that we have had over the years (e.g Tweedledum & Tweedldee). Maybe some of the Sharks selection heirarchy could be seen at Junior games on a Sunday (especially after a Saturday night game) to look at some of the talent under their nose. They have'nt been seen this year anywhere.

Interesting comments. I saw that Ball team run around last year and have got to admit they were way off the pace. I wasn't very impressed by either Wynn or Mullane. Can't remember much of Preistly, but he must go alright to be picked for NSW. Rhys Lovegrove is going to be an excellent player. Looks well on track to be in firsts within a couple of years.

Interessting to see that Rewati has retained his second row spot this week ahead of the highly rated Lovegrove and the highly rated Bobongine. Kris Pyper is his partner in the second row. He is another exciting player, who could go on to first grade if he can stay injury free.

Yeah i am with you on the Wynn and Mullane comments Ali. While they obviously have some ability i think the wrapps seem to stem from their last names.

It is good to see Pyper back from injury. Like it was mentioned has a big future ahead of him if he can stay injury free which unfortunately has been easier said than done.

Just on the U21 comp Grey Nurse you will find alot of the better players running around in that comp trialled and missed out on spots in the Flegg side for this year and even players that have made the Flegg squad are running around in u21's at the moment because they are not getting given a go. You have Chris Kerr playing for Como, Kiel Roberts playing for Como, Josh Pickerd playing for Cronulla Caringbah, Anthony Beare playing for Cronulla Caringbah. I dont think you will find many more better players than those which are currently playing in Flegg because many have been given the chance to make it already and didnt.

Thanks for all of the good replies on Reweti boys.
I just wanted to know a bit more about him etc as he does not seem to be in the plans of the Sharks or maybe he is still a bit off being up to top grade standard. I guess he is young.
I was looking at the depth we have & thinking about the sharks search for a s/row /prop.
hopefully as a local junior we can see him up there in a year or 2.

If she is over 17 then geez I have some uses with that flexibility.
If she is not over 16, then , gee she is flexible.
