why is it thast RG or NSW Cup fixtures care not being played before NRL/NYC this year as the norm

There are teams that seem to do it occassionaly eg Newcastle this weekend and the Sharks

Yet we have situations like the Bulldogs playing their games The Crest Stadium when they could have easily been on a Homebush

I know the Bears want their games at NSO

But why else ?

Has there been a directive from teh NSWRL & NRL ?

More games at stadium=Stadium employees working longer hours=greater costs. Sucks, they used to play a Qld cup game before Titans, was good value.

Today is the 2nd time this year the Knights have had the NSW Cup game at EAS (out of 3 home games), I think they in particular have made an effort to fit those games in where possible as one of the major complaints from Knights fans in recent years is that there's only 2 and not 3 games of footy to watch, hence less value for your $$$.

Etihad Stadium will not allow curtain raisers of any code as the amount of matches played on it degrades the turf...

Only Newcastle and Cronulla have pretty much ever played all three grades - NSW then Toyota then NRL, since the Toyota Cup came into being. The Bulldogs did it at ANZ once last year I think but for the most part it's a "park footy" comp.
