NFL defenses are learning about the innate talents of Robert Griffin III, and Robert Griffin III is learning about the innate nastiness of NFL defenses.

The Washington Redskins rookie quarterback knew they were coming for him, but RG3 was surprised by what he called "dirty extracurriculars" after the whistle in Sunday's loss to the St. Louis Rams.

Griffin told the team's official site he expected pressure, but not "unprofessional" cheap shots. "It was weird," he said. "... People want to hit me because they don't think I can take a hit."

Griffin was only sacked once in the loss, but Rams linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar was seen pushing RG3's head down following a first-quarter pass attempt.

hahaha, what a whiney bitch. did he think every nfl d was gonna let him strut around like a peacock the same way the saints d let him?

didn't he whine enough during the game? he's still going on about it 3 days later. after one of his many scampers he was seen crying to the refs, "they were leading with their helmets". maybe he should check the rule book and read that once he becomes a runner he is gonna take some shots like normal rbs.

now that defenses around the league have seen him hold up a placard in public saying "i'm a whiney bitch and if you hit me hard enough it will put me off my game" they'll be coming after him even harder.

Ah Rams fans

I lol'd

Complaining about complaining about cheap shots that are happening all over the league because the officials have no control of the game.

Kurt, I thought you would be happy when you look at the schedule and the Skins? We are good for one of your 3 wins a year.

The hits keep coming

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III (right) is hit by Rams linebacker James Laurinaitis after running for positve yards during the second quarter Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome.

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - Pushed and shoved throughout a game he felt was "unprofessional" and "dirty," Robert Griffin III finally heard the obvious from one of the St. Louis Rams defensive players.

"I remember one play," the Washington Redskins quarterback said. "After the play, the guy said: 'We're going to hit you every play.'

"I said: 'Isn't this football?' It's nothing that I'm not used to. It was extremely weird the way they went about it, though."

Sunday's 31-28 loss was barely over when the Redskins starting talking about replacement officials who had lost control and Rams players who were engaged in too much rough stuff after the whistle.

A few days have gone by, but it's still too raw to let it rest. Griffin is going to handle the ball a lot this year - he already had 20 rushes in addition to 55 pass attempts - so the Redskins don't want him taking any extra hits, especially ones that he feels aren't clean.

"There was some extracurricular stuff going on after the plays," Griffin said. "They were doing a lot of dirty things. I still think they have an extremely good team, that doesn't take anything away from them, but the game was unprofessional. Who am I to talk? I've barely been a pro for very long, but from what I experienced against the Saints compared to that game, it was definitely unprofessional and it does need to be cleaned up."

Griffin was sacked only once by the Rams, but he was knocked down several times.

"I don't want to tiptoe the lines of anything that's happened with bounties or anything like that, but they were definitely going after me," Griffin said. "They made it a point, obviously, all week to hit me. Some of the shots were cheap of that nature. But it's nothing I can control. Teams are going to try to hit me because they don't think I can take a hit. I think I've proved over my career that I can."

haha, waaaaahhhhhhhh. have a cry wussy boy. i think rg3 better come to the realistion that teams around the league will be trying to be the polar opposite of what the saints are dishing out as a defense.

maybe he should ask vick what happens to running qbs in the nfl.

So they have taken one interview from the Redskins, and split it up into several articles to make it seem like he is continuously complaining?

This issue has more to do with the officiating than it does RGIII taking his lumps.

Cortland Finnegan has said that these officials allow them to "play football", I am sure he would have changed his tone if he was the one that was called for a 15 yard flag instead of Morgan.

Easy to be on the winning side and claim the other side is whining.
