Most heartless player I've seen in a Panthers jersey.

Useless waste of space.

That's a bit harsh I think.

I bet you weren't thinking that when you were watching him play against the West Tigers.

Fullback is not his position, let's face it, he is filling in there as our third string fullback.

Last night when I was eating dinner I found Richie Williams heart in my f*cking meal. I even took a photo to prove it to people.

He showed against the Tigers that he is not defensively sound enough to play #1.

His "lapse" before half time was just astounding. I was speechless.

He's hot blooded and still to mature as a football player let alone a person. I think he's the type of player who should be using aggression rather than immaturity to become a better player. I don't rate him. And if he wants to walk in the same footsteps of Anthony Mundine he has a loooong way to go.

What the heck? Williams has made a few mistakes recently but from what I have seen I haven't minded. In his debut match for Penrith (I can't remember who it was against) he was one of our better players. Atleast he's not like Frank "I go missing for 60 minutes"Pritchard, what the hell was the display at the end from him and Jennings. To me it just looked like he was showing Elliot that he could do it if he wanted to.

I mean what is the go with this forum and hating almost all of the newbies that have come in. I have sat a read numerous things about how Brendan Worth isn't good enough as well... You know what he was pretty decent when he played in FG this year, his defence was better than Tony "just run right past me" Puletua and his hit ups had a bit more muscle in them then Joel "Look at my hair fly" Clinton, yet you guys who had already determined him not good enough before he put on the jersey bagged him week after week. sh*t I would prefer Worthy their than half of the forwards in our pack.

I know him personally and he is a player that will give his all, not like half of the half hearted performances I have seen from some in the forward pack.

The entire squad needs to have a look at itself at the end of the season...

The lapse before half time was nothing compared to the attempted tackle before Canberra's first try.

Williams thought it was touch football.

Oh I'm sorry but isn't williams the last line of defence? So therefore maybe you should look at the pathetic attempt at tackling before he got to Williams. And there would have been alot of players who would not have been able to stop a player coming at them from that far out. I strongly doubt Wesser would have stood a chance.

But the players that ha got through before he got to Williams are as much to blame for that try than him. Stop being so one eyed...

maybe u should take a look at Craig Gower and Nathan Smith...both missed tackles which led to tries.

Also Nick Youngquest.

But you arn't smashing them.

One player doesn't lose you a game. You win as a team, and you lose as a team.

Williams could be potentially a very dangerous player but his mistakes almost always gives the opposition points unfortunately for us.

If he can rid himself of the laziness, get rid of the blinkers, learn to read the opposition plays and build up his defensive techniques he would make a wonderful 5/8th for us in a similar Preston Campbell style. I'm not asking him to be flawless and I'm not asking him to be solid in defence either. Being a speed bump and slowing opposition players down always helps out your team-mates rather than clutching thin air or going missing completely.

He is a pretty exciting player to watch when he has the ball. An entertainer that's for sure.

Exactly.

Williams showed how much heart he had when he chased after Chris Lawrence and even got to him before he scored a try. He didn't save the try. But he sure as hell showed more spirit then any other player in trying to prevent it.

And every week, Tony Puletua misses two or three tackles with the softest efforts you have seen. Richie Williams makes an error in judgement, gets beaten by a physically bigger player, and his heart is questioned?

Williams isn't a fullback. His defence isn't that great, nor is his ability under the high ball. But atleast he tries. He is playing out of position, and in a team that has done sh*t all this year in terms of showing heart. He has been better then you would expect IMO.

I rate Williams - probably my post did not make that clear.

But he's better at 6. His defence is not that good (especially for a fullback), but there's room for improvement. He was obviously chosen there for his attack, anyway.

Yeah he definitely belongs in the halves and not fullback. With the injuries to Wesser and Gordan it would have been a perfect chance to give Sammut a run at fullback.

Could not agree with you more. The problem with the first Canberra try wasn't Williams.. it was TONY PULETUA. Week in week out, this guy is jersey grabbing and watching attacking players go straight trough his weak defense. I cant recall Puletua making a tackle with his body all season long.

He should take a leaf out of his brothers book and learn some aggressive defense.

Well, he's been dropped to PL, in the centres.

But he's good enough to make a return to first grade, when his form warrants it.

As has Tony Puletua.

Thank god for that. Richie Williams could have played first grade at centre or off the bench IMO and i would've been happy. But Big T has been asking to be dropped for a while now.
