Man they are giving it to Knights and Stone in the media. Not a lot backing the decision. All I can say is we will see what happens in the next two years. I think it was right due to he did a pretty good job when he was in position b4 Bennett and deserves to get another go because he stuck by us.

Who's saying that? I haven't seen much negativity from the media.

Just watched NRL 360 and PK Blocker and Tallis didn't have a lot of good things to say. Not that it matters really. Just seems that it's rather hard to gain compliments from media when it comes to the knights. They even brought up the win against Melb as more Melborne playing poorly then us playing well. Dunno. Maybe I'm asking for too much

Yeah, I get what you mean with general "hard to get a compliment" thing. It was pretty obvious on the Footy Show on Sunday after our win over Melb. Even Canberra managed to get a wrap after losing but we still couldn't.

We stole the game. The Waddell strip was a penalty. He was never square. I watched it a few times now. Bellamy had a point. Media will never rap us. Ever. It is a fact we have to live with.

We seem to be Kents whipping boy at the moment. Not worried by him - certainly not worried about being criticised by Tallis and Roach - no credibility out of either of them...

I'd say Kent hates us because after he made that insensitive racial remark a lot of our players took to Instagram to blow up about it. I recall him mentioning Korbin and BJ in particular reacting poorly to it and he wasn't happy.

Yeah right. I don't remember Knights doing much to have such an impartial effect towards the media. Anywho its not a big issue, be just nice to get some plaudits instead of the constant wonkiest for Souths, Melb, Rorters, Brisbane.

Then again I guess that leaves us flying under the radar... Which is how the club has liked it in the past and mostly the fans.

LOL - Firstly, I think it was marginal BUT even if it was called, if I went through the coverage I'm sure I'd find 20 examples of the Storm not square and another 19 against the Knights...if they penalised not square every time it happened, there'd be no time for a game of footy.

From a refereeing perspective, it is about time we actually got a few 'lucky' calls go our way at home...

Seem to remember a game where Cooper Cronk tackles Darius Boyd without the ball when he is chasing through a kick and he's not sin binned when everybody including commentators saw it as the most blatant professional foul to not get a sin bin, also happened again recently at home (against the Roosters I think?) where a break is made, then player (never on side) tackles and stops a certain try and again no sin bin...I think the term swings and round abouts reflects my opinion that our run with losing the 50/50s has been on the deficit side of the ledger for a bloody long time, so it is nice to see the balance sheet evening up a bit

Were we lucky to win - Yes.

Did Storm deserve to lose - Yes.

I do agree with Kent about the interview process, it was never conducted in a impartial or thorough manner. Stone was the man the wanted from the outset and he ended being the only one they interviewed, this trouble me for 2 reasons, firstly although Stone was the man they wanted, a thorough interview process should have been conducted, secondly even if they had decided Rick was their man, why wait so bloody long to announce it, they wasted the best part of a month in terms of recruitment for next year for what? To make it seem all options were considered?
Also what credentials does Gidley have to be running a NRL team?

I agree too. The whole process was a joke. To me it looked as if they wanted to create a process and criteria just to keep the NRL happy, then gave it to their mate anyway.

I certainly agree with Kent that the way the whole selection was handled was ridiculous, and frankly I don't think any of us expected any more from Gidley and Chief like he also alluded to.

The part I don't agree with him about are his comments levelled at Stone himself who IMO isn't the one at fault here. He very well might not be the man for the job (I'm still on the fence about whether it was the right call) but at the end of the day it was management that were responsible for going through the process and selecting the right candidate, not him.

It's a shame everything has gone so quiet on the Koukash front because a complete overhaul is the only way to get the boys club that's been holing us back out.

I really hate the boys club.

It's more to do with how close Stone is to Brian Smith.

That axe will never stop being grinded round there.

Good point. Hadn't thought of that connection. Either way the bloke has been death riding the club for as long as I can remember.

He would make a great addition to the team.

Anderson could join Knights
The rumour won't go away that Daniel Anderson will join Rick Stone at the Knights next year as an assistant coach.

Anderson has a senior management role at Parramatta but there are those who tell me he is looking for a change and a more 'hands on' role.

His big match experience - he took both the Warriors and Eels to grand finals - would make him a valuable addition to Stone's coaching team.

Stone takes over at the end of the season and is yet to finalise his coaching team.

Anderson would be better than the other guy putting his hand up for a role last week - Michael Hagan...

It just seems that everyone is looking for a payday, all the same old names.

New blood only please. Anderson would be interesting as he is a new face in the club.
