Yeah the press were saying about "his old team" we're doing it tough and he said he was happy not to be there anymore.

Lol why would that make anyone angry. I'd be f**king thrilled to be out too if I wanted more than just $$$.

came of looking smug to me.
He signed to be here for 4 years. Not saying I want him here still but it's the team he put together and left us with.

Ok I just watched the post game conference and had to stop it after he was asked what he thought of the under pressure Tyrone's game...

"Yeah he was good! First game back and showed he's a first grade halfback"

GTFO of here... That's the last roll of the dice IMO.

Mate - he's trying to get $400K off the salary cap next year. That isn't going to happen unless Stone goes really hard in selling his "talents".

Perhaps. Honestly, that didn't even cross my mind when I heard it.

I truly hope that's the case.

He has to be thinking of next year and how the club can get rid of him to another club. The only way to do that is to play him in first grade and give him a chance to find another club. We drop him, no one will want him, we are stuck with him and his $400K contract next year.

This season is stuffed. We need to look towards next year and cleaning up our squad now.

The problem is if we continue to play him and he plays like he has all season then nobody is going to want him anyway. How many clubs are there who wouldn't watch the tapes on a player and instead opt for what the coach says in a press conference?

Stones not fooling anybody. We will be stuck with at least 250k of his money next season anyway.

In all honesty, I think assuming Stone is saying those things to ship off Roberts is giving the coach more credit than he deserves at the moment.

I wouldn't be surprised if he genuinely believes what he's saying.

If he believed that we wouldn't have signed a replacement for him for next year.

Problem is everyone can see right through it as pure marketing. The fact that the Titans haven't done a deal straight away is concerning...

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the Hodkinson signing came from Matt Gidley and the Board rather than Stone. Pressure from us and the rest of the fans could have had a bit to do with it as well.

He hasn't been proactive at all with his team selections and his reluctance to drop out of form players this year, so I have to question his thoughts on recruitment as well.

I mean you're probably right, but I just have no confidence in him any more or what he's thinking.

A nice press conference to finish the season. You can see the hurt and embarrassment by Buderus and Gidley. If only the rest of the team felt it as much as them it would give you some confidence going forward that will get a bit of fire in the belly.

Buderus was pretty honest too which is nice to see. Hope he sticks around, because he definitely feels like he can help turn the place around.
