Ricky Stuart said Simpkins decision to send Morley off was an amateurish decision...and i agree.
However, what about Ricky's amateur decisions in the big games?

2003 GF plays Chris Walker, fails to use his bench adequately

2004 GF again plays Chris Walker and again fails to use his bench adequately.

Those are amateur decisions.

totally agree! After the carnage left on walker's wing in 2003 I simply CANNOT believe he started him in last years GF! That was just bad coaching from ricky plain and simple!

i went to the raiders-roosters match a couple weeks ago, and walker seemed to have only one attacking play. he'd run towards the sideline, get perilously close, and throw a no-look pass in-field over his head. quality.

awwww poor chook, cant handle the truth????????
Its ok for Ricky to call someone an amateur isnt it...but when someone attacks him for his mistakes its not on
The chooks lost the 2003 GF, thats fine, you cant win them all. But then in 2004 to repeat the same thing is crazy!!
When a team/coach loses a GF they are supposed to learn something from it. Ricky and the chooks learnt nothing from 2003.

Gee thanks scoop, I never realised this till right now

Do you have any more pearls of last years wisdom to impart on us or has your shift at the factory finished?

Chook.

Yes I'm sure the points you make were taken into consideration when he was selected as NSW State of Origin Coach.

Chook.

Ricky is obviously a good coach mate, otherwise he wouldn't have the success rate he's got. Making a couple bad or amaturish decisions doesn't make him a bad one. It'd be like me sayig after Melbourne put 50 on Brisbane "well Bennett has obviously lost his touch, he may aswell quit now"... ie rubbish.
As I said I do agree that starting walker in the 2004 GF was a stupid decision, so was starting the useless Justin Hodges, but he placed his faith in them and that's the end of it...
Anyway, why do you care if Ricky blew his top about simpkins? He was actually right you know! Simpkins was a fool not to consult the video ref before making such a devestating decision. Ricky was wrong to get so emotional, but thats the kind of bloke he is.

i dont care he blew his stack re Simpkins.
I just think that calling him an amateur was pretty harsh and that should have drawn a fine.
Stuart was also a fool to play Hodges and Walker on the same side of the park!

Stop! Don't remind me about it anymore! Your giving me horrible flashbacks of Utai humiliating them over and over, and it's more than I can take!! :( ](*,) :( ](*,) :(

I wouldn't call this amaturish from nathan brown cos i like him as a coach, but i find it hard to believe that Colin Best is still starting in first grade this week after his dismal performance against Brisbane (bott)

I thought he had no choice but to come in off his wing on two occassions. In saying that, there are plenty of wingers today that constantly come in off their wing. As a kid, I was always taught to stay on your winger.

Players such as Walker, El Masri and Walker do it all the time :x

amateur? I think when you look up that word in the dictionary you will see the Dragons of 2005. The only team with 6/7 Origin players that have started the yr 1/5. Your whole club is amateurish Immortal...from the coach to the CEO right down to the players.
