Ricky Stuart: Jarryd Hayne may be the attacking five-eighth the Blues need to beat Qu

If Snake is back he has to be fullback. Hayne is too god to be a winger (we are strong there anyway)

1. Snake
6. Hayne
7. Carney.

If it fires and feeds the likes of Uate, Jennings and either twin, NSW score 30 points. Simple.

And if it fails, 1. Snake/hayne 6 Soward 7 Pearce isnt too bad to fall back on.

As for Dugan - why is that nuffy even being mentioned? Out for 6 with a bad case of acne.

I'm not sure Hayne is fit enough to be playing SOO, he's only just getting through his NRL games

Duges has ruled himself out of Origin 1 but he says he'll be back for Origin 2 so that's good news for all NSW supporters.

f**k knows why Hayne is even being considered for Origin.

The only time i've seen him sprint this season was in round 2 against the Warriors when he went down injured. He's obviously no where close to 100% and would get found out at Origin level.

Give him as long as he needs to recover fully and he might be good to go for games 2 and 3.

Awesome news. We'll need to win game 1 if we want to take the series

Bobby he's taking the piss, it was a swipe at Dugan/ Canberra. We would have a better chance of winning with Dugan there than with Gidley or any other tool from Newcastle. Uate is worthy of his spot, but keep Gidley as far away as possible from fullback. Hayne will be fullback if Dugan isn't.

Stuart simply can't see what is patently obvious to everyone else. Either he has a plan, or he's indoctrinated. I don't know which is worse. If he starts yelling "Prepare for the Arrival!" I'm done......we can't survive the return of the Dugan!

Dugan and Stewart are both injured, Mini shouldn't be selected and it's quite obvious there are few other real viable choices. In comes Hayne; playing injured in a terrible team and still earning rave reviews for his performances.
What should Stuart do? Why, the choice is clear!
You can play five-eighth Hayne, a position where our second best back is currently dominating the NRL, whilst the incumbent Mitchell Pearce readies for a tough test.

Lol.

If Hayne can't run properly and is going in a bit injured, 5/8 would be his best position tbh. He can set up players, put in some long kicks and he probably won't need to worry about his running game as much as he would at fullback, centre, or wing

Honestly If that's the case though, then surely he can't play. Carney should be locked in for the 5/8 spot if we're going to fight fire with fire. If Hayne's leg is okay then I would prefer him at fullback.

Does that mean unless NSW manage to get 5000+ effective military strength and choose the renegade ending, Hayne will die at the end of game 3 while his team mates end up stranded on an unknown planet for no logical reason?

I suffered my way through half of that article. Ricky Stuart either thinks way too much, or he talks way too much about how much he 'thinks'.

I'm sure shitty v merkinry will provide him with all the answers he needs, and we'll get a dissertation about it over the days following.

As a qld fan would love to see this happen but it probably won't as Country will probably put 20 points on City with Hayne at 5/8. All I can see from this situation is Hayne having about 5 missed tackles, injuring himself more because he is about 85% fit and defending in the front line or both happening. The reason why Qld's halves have been so dominant is that they have had an off the cuff player in the halves (Thurston), alongside an organiser (Lockyer, Price, Cronk). If NSW had Hayne in the the halves with Carney who organises the team, they would be better going with Carney, Wallace or Pearce.

Carney/Pearce is the best combo we can have if Pearce finds a bit of form. As much as I think Wallace might be a better option. We need to aim for some consistency in the team and stick to a basis of players.

In fairness, he only works for about a month and a half each year.

He has nothing better to do.
