Yeh, but I guess the pertinent point re Maitua is that another club wants him....but for less money than his existing Eels contract....so we get to eat the difference.

That said, I don't have a big problem with the decision to keep him on...he's far from our worst 1st grader.

To be honest I don't know why we're letting him go. It could only be that he's a bad influence in a club with very few good influences.

In effect, getting rid of him is part of the culture change.

Apparently all recruits next year (presumably excluding Hoppa) have get out clauses if Stuart is not coach, so we have asked him to give us a list of demands to make him stay on board... WTF!? This gets crazier and dumber by the minute...

I rate him but I accept that the politics of returning him to the club would be volatile.

I think its the same issue that we had with Anderson, the board want to get rid of the coach that the previous board appointed and replace him with their own appointment. They have already sacked 2 CEO's in 3 months, it appears the coach is on borrowed time.

With respect, did you read the article?

It says 'with speculation they all have get out clauses.....'.

That mean absolutely nothing. We could have that speculation without any source.

Pou taking Anderson back is probably not the right move. I just hate the way he was sacked and am somewhat biased to obtain some justice for the man. I appreciate what you are saying and others here about his possible reinstatement. Henry is without doubt the most experienced option out there besides Sheens.

This is the problem:

. Steve Sharp reiterated his belief yesterday that all directors were 100 per cent committed to him coaching for the next two seasons.

Who cares if each director aren't behind the coach - if 51% of the board agree then the rest of the board should support that decision and provide an united public front - not cry like a child that does not get their lollipop when shopping with mum.

Do really think Henry is that good ? He has had several seasons with the cowboys and only made the finals twice in the bottom 4. They havent seriously competed for the title yet under henry. They always seem to have a soft underbelly. Considering their squad I reckon they have under achieved. They have finished 12, 15, 7, 5 the last 4 years and were traveling badly this year until Henry was sacked.

The last line of that article from sharp makes me think we will be without Stuart. "Irrespective of who the coach is why say that?
