serious question:

do those of you on this forum that rate matt rieck
rate him because of his speed or do you actually
think he is a GOOD footballer of NRL first grade
quality.

I'm not having another go at him just for the sake
of it ...i'm curious as to why people seem to think
he deserves a first grade spot because to me he
is a huuuuuge defensive liability continually being
caught out of position that has two left hands.

i think it is good to have pace but at what cost,
i get scared everytime the opposition attack his side of the field.

I like him mostly because of his speed, but there have been some rare occasions where he's had hands BETTER than the Peach!

My jury's still out on stinky......obviously Rapes has him there for a reason...plenty of others to chose from....maybe he's been given a chance to prove himself?

Easy answer to this question.
Take 10 metres of his speed, & he would be reserve for reserves at Parramatta.
That is, 8 wingers behind the much maligned side show Bob.
He has to improve his enthusiasm to be everywhere. I mena fuggin everywhere at all times. Sort of like flash gordon was.

I rate Stinky for his speed.

He is very much a confidence player though. When he's Hot he is Hot. When he's not... well.. you've seen what that's like.

Speed
Wingers must have it.
Reick needs a good centre cause he can finish.
His footballing sense has improved a wee bit this season, but he ain't a natural.
I would like to see him roam around the middle early in the set more, not dummy half crap, just hanging around ready to sprint.
That said I see more potential in Simmons.
ET was the best winger in defence late in his career, both will improve, more mistakes to happen before fewer do later in the season.
Fortunately he and Bailey make for a good match as winger and centre, I was hoping Phil would be 2nd row, but I am liking the Bailey Reick Combo.

he's quick but he just can't tackle. personally i know i'd definitely pick merritt, saleh, mcgoldrick and kent before him. can't comment on emilio 'cause i haven't seen him since early last year when he sucked hard.

exacltly, no one has a problem with his attack ...it's his positional play while defending and his defence itself thats the problem and it hasn't improved since he arrived at the club.

If you reckon we've got problems, what about the Roosters wingers? One gets chased down by a lock forward in the Grand Final, then last week the other was caught by a second rower after being given a start

Rieck might not be optimal but having watched McGoldrick this year, he is hardly the answer to our problems, whether it be in the centres or on the wing.

Well done, you've cited one of my posts to answer the question you are asking and have continued to ask after that post

I hope you didnt burst too many brain cells with that response

Well done, you dont like Rieck. Better get you on the phone to SR immediately, you must have a brilliant tactical mind. But even having seen the list of alternatives, you havent even said who you believe should replace Rieck, or why.

I note you said:
I'm not having another go at him just for the sake
of it

Well where are you contributing anything?

actually nark the question i was asking is why people on here rate rieck as i've noticed that alot of people do. I don't so i was curious as to what poeple see in his game other than speed. I didn't ask anyone to give an alternative nor did i offer one but i beleive everyone on that list bar emilio would do a better job than rieck.

And if you believe rieck is a better footballer than mcgoldrick you are watching with your head up your arse.
