I know Penrith had plenty of players out today but apart from Segeyaro and Cartwright, they looked inspid in attack. The forwards did not get much go forward for Penrith. Segeyaro looked dangerous everytime he touched the ball as did Bryce Cartwright. Soward was MIA.

First time I can recall seeing Penrith lose all 3 grade. They lost Toyota Cup. Their NSW Cup team went from leading 30-6 to lose 31-30 to Newtown. Unusual.

Mate, all teams have injuries. All teams have played sides coming off a bye. A lot of sides have played Monday/Saturday against quality teams.

Compared to a lot of teams Penrith have had a good run with injuries to date.

Under those same circumstances those teams lose more often then not. That's the point... Panthers had little chance with odds stacked against them.

Not saying it doesn't happen to every team. Just that judging a team with 5+ injuries backing up from a short turnaround isn't a true reflection of what that team is capable of. Many people like to use this loss as proof of Panthers being pretenders. But realistically it was the only result if Roosters showed up to play.

Would be good to meet on a level playing field -that means no Ashley Klein!
You blokes have had a good run and with a loss, the excuses start flying. Got a feeling that you will need a few more of them by seasons end.
You got beaten and really never looked like winning.

Of course we never looked like winning - we were never given a chance to from the 4th minute on!

Imagine the outcry if it went the other way!
The better team won on the day, but it would have been good to see the teams on a level playing field.
The sin binning gave the roosters the momentum and they went on with it like the good team they are.
A different decision then would have meant a different game.

For and Against is pretty important actually. Souths are in 4th place with a positive 8 points differential. It could come down to for and against for a top 4 place come finals time.

It helps when your team doesn't lose to the wooden spooners as well. If you don't do that, you don't need to be awarded tries that were not scored.

So that decision in the 4th minute cost you the game ? And you blokes are hopeful of going deep into the finals, but don't have what it takes to come back from an early decision and your also saying that you don't have a mentally tough side and if things don't go your own way, that your not capable of dealing with it ? I think that many other Panthers fans are reading your comments and cringing ?

It certainly didn't help.

Enforcer, we were never a chance of winning this game. I said as much last Tuesday. The events of the first 20 minutes just made doubly sure of it.

Next time we play this team the playing field might be level.

Look what happened after the Roosters did a 40/20, then look what happened after we got one.

Injuries, decisions, bounce of the ball are going to come into play for every team in contention by years end and it's who deals with these negatives and overcomes them are the ones who are going to find themselves prolonging Mad Monday the longest. If Penrith go into games with the same attitude as some of their fans on here, then you guys aren't going anywhere. Adversity can be overcome and almost certainly will by teams going deep into the finals.

Thanks for your advice, by the way Max says hi.

Mate, you won by 20. Why are you whingeing?

It ain't Roosters fans having a grand old sook about refereeing decisions all throughout this thread.

Penrith won the penalty count convincingly, while the roosters were denied a fair try by the video referee. Your team lost because they were outplayed on the day, end of f**king story.

So far so good. But then....

Penrith won the penalty count convincingly, while the roosters were denied a fair try by the video referee.

Geeze that sounds a bit like a Roosters fan having a grand old sook about the refereeing....in a game they won by 20 points.
