I don't think he will join the Bulldogs. Some bulldogs players dont like him.

Crocker was actually decent in attack for qld in origin 1, but the fact that he was even playing origin at all is the joke. There is absolutely nothing remarkable about the guys playing ability whatsoever, If he played for almost any other club other than the roosters, no one would give a sh*t about the guy.

The Bulldogs today pulled out of the race for Crocker , I think they will put all the eggs into the 1 basket and target Bailey now.

i wouldn't mind seeing him leave the roosters because then we might be able to keep flannery

Theyd keep both anyway , its bloody obvious that they would be over the cap with a player roster like that , then they add players like Amos Roberts , Joel Monaghan and Brett Firman to their list , theres no way they would be under the cap , but Ian Schubert is and ex Roosters player anyway so you will be fine. I know the Bulldogs did it but they got caught and were punished , the Roosters are getting away with it.

get over yourself, we are within the cap
we dont pay players as much as you think, they come to the roosters because it is a well managed club, has great professionalism and they know they can further their career

dont accuse of anything unless you have the facts

Well its obvious that you will say that , its a natural reaction to defend your team , but ask most other supporters of other clubs and I think you will find that they agree with what I am saying.

I don't agree with that. Its the same reason the Dogs and Broncos are able to keep good squads. Players will take a little less if it means staying/going to a competive team. Just look at Souths, they have to pay overs to get players to their team but still struggle to get enough to make 'em competive.

How about last night when on each occasion when he dropped the ball, did you see all the team mates patting him on the back telling him not to worry!!!!! NOT!

Even Fitzy was ignoring him as they went to the scrums and Morley walked through him like he wasnt there!!!

If the way Flannery brushed Crocker after Crocker's try last week didnt convince you, last night would have...You don't have to be Einstien to work out why he is leaving.....

MELBOURNE Storm is primed to make a major play for Queensland Origin and former Test back-rower Michael Crocker.

Crocker is almost certain to leave the Sydney Roosters at the end of the season after being told by the club it can't afford to upgrade his salary.

Crocker has a get-out clause in his current contract, which expires in 2006. It enables him to talk to other clubs between June 1 and July 31 of this year.

Storm chief executive Brian Waldron last night confirmed Storm would approach Crocker early next week.

"We are going to have a real crack at him," Waldron said last night.

"He is on the market, he is an Origin and international rep player and we would be mad not to have a look at him.

"I know the coach has a high opinion of him, and we feel he would be a great addition to our forward stocks."

Renowned as an aggressive defender and strong ball carrier, Crocker would bring an element of mongrel to the Storm pack. The club has been without a recognised enforcer since Danny Williams' career was ended by his infamous strike on Wests Tigers back-rower Mark O'Neill and subsequent 18-match ban last year.

Crocker has been linked to the new Gold Coast franchise, which will take the field in 2007. But it is understood he has some family in Melbourne, which may help Storm entice the tough forward south.

"We have been told he is interested, now we have to see how interested," Waldron said. Storm remains hopeful of retaining strike centres Matt King and Steven Bell, with King expected to agree to a new deal early next week.

Halfback Matt Orford is continuing to consider his options. But it seems likely he will turn his back on rich English Super League deals to remain in the NRL

I'd love to see him at Melbourne. As long as its for more than 1 year.

The Tele reports one Sydney club wants Crocker and Flannery on a 1 year package deal before both join the Gold Coast in 2007.
No prizes for guessing who the club is.Might be their only chance to get a name player, even if it is for 1 year.
