I was just wondering, how much is Rugby Leauge promoted in Sydney?

Up here, every Knights home game has thousands of ads to get people to get the game.

I live in st george (near oki) and work in the shire. I see a sharks ad for their next game on the shire side of the taren point bridge - thats it. I see nothing in dragons country for the dragons and really nothing in sharks territory. The only way to find out when and where a game is on is to go online - either the team site/nrl site/or this site.

Pretty poor to be honest, some radio ads would be good, maybe some tv ads, but that takes away viewers doesnt it? Maybe clubs could advertise games on other networks?

The Swans usually have massive billboards on Parramatta Road, spruiking their games at ANZ, usually there a few weeks beforehand.......sorry wrong sport.

Is it the NRL's job to promote games or the clubs involved? In the UK all advertising etc for game day is the responsibility of the clubs, the RFL is only responsible for the advertising of the comp generally.

Surely with the money clubs have they should be the ones pushing their own games shouldn't they?

Pretty poor promotion for the Dragons in the Gong too.

Amazing when you consider the local TV viewing area goes right down the coast and all over the highlands. They advertised for a while in the early days, just as the Steelers did, then it sort of whittled away. Recently it was just "XYZ proud sponsors of the StGI Dragons number * jersey" etc... so really no promotion from the club at all and no mention of home games.

Years ago we'd get every Steelers game on 2OO / i98 before the NRL gave 2GB exclusive rights... free promotion for the local club refused by short sighted administrators.
