They really need to tap into corporate support. Surely with so much international activity they'd be able to attract more, anything???

Be interesting to get the latest English participation figures 2014,hoping for further numbers growth. This way they get more from Sport England, instead of a reduction in grant monies.

Only concern I have with some of the RLEF stats ,is a few countries with a reduction in the number of seniors etc teams.

Corporate support would be great. However, the issue would be it is a very disparate product. Rugby league in Norway, France and Serbia very varying amounts of different markets, with varying implementation. I am not saying it is impossible, but it would require imagination to make it work.

Taipan, Team sports are in decline and contact sports are in decline. We are fighting the tide and if we stick to the orthodox approach, we will lose.

There are some negatives in there. But I believe the 2014 report will show even more growth than 2013. Spain and Greece for example, are almost non-existent in the 2013 report and have really come a long way in such a short time...

Seems to lots of growth in Wales despite the issues with the Crusaders a few years ago.

welsh rugby league is far better served by having north wales in the championship & south wales in championship 1 with actual welsh players and a development program(ie the walesRL performance center) than having the crusaders in super league with bought in overseas has beens...

wales are going about things the right way imo

Understand Steve,so the question is what is the unorthodox approach? Touch /tag initially?

Yep, touch and tag. Hugely underutilised outside of Aus and Eng. So much potential.

Notice that the RLEF run on pretty much a shoestring budget in a hugely challenging environment over three continents and acheive more than the ARLC/RLIF.
