Stacey Jones has backed the return of Rugby League World Cup. Stacey Jones arguably the best New Zealander to pull on the Kiwi Jumper believes there is a place in International League to have a World Cup.

"The world cups I’ve played in have been great" he said. "At the moment there's no world champion in league." "It's a good thing to have if it's done properly."

The Warriors and Kiwis halfback said he also wanted to see the proposed tri-series between New Zealand, Australia and Great Britain go ahead.

"For the sake of international football it needs to be played", he said. "It's a great concept".

But he admitted he had reservations about the length of the tour.

"Going to the UK for a long period for time is not good for the players," he said.

It’s good to see that the top players from Australia (Darren Lockyer) and New Zealand (Stacey Jones) are calling for the World Cup to be played again, it just proves that International Rugby League is not dead and will always have a place in Rugby League.

They are playing more tests every year....it can only get bigger

Until they shorten the club season, the International game will remain second rate. The clubs and players are always complaining about to many games in a year. And guess what its not the club games or SOO that are missed out.

The club season will not be shortened until crowds and other income increase to offset the loss of revenue for losing a home game.

In short, the comp won't be reduced from 26 rounds anytime soon.

My point exactly. It is the reason why International League will always remain second rate. But then again club games get crappy attendences anyway
