LYON CAN GET STUFFED. Hate him, Absolutely Hate him.

It's amazing how public opinion can turn around so quickly. When there was a chance of him returning this would have never been said, in fact quite the opposite.

jamie is not the only one who has left this club after a falling out with smith, not by a long shot.
i know some of you may not care about these players,
and i know you want smith in no matter what,
but think about this, ponder it,
if talent keeps leaving this club because of smith, and i mean real talent, is he really worth it? :?

People have to learn the value of a contract...If they don't undertand that they are legally binding get them into court and sue the arse off them for breaching it.
Contracts CAN'T be just one way.. Teach LYON a lesson, both in life and in responsibility. He took the dough when it suited him, but has not returned the service. A Bludger if you ask me.

It just goes to show that Jamie's so called " personal problems" where a load of shit!!

Jamie left Parra because he's a lazy bitch who would rather knacker male pigs then play first grade RL like most normal people would * must be a country mentality thing*

In all the interviews i've seen with Jamie..the only interest he has is in getting pissed with his friends, Playing Play station & working in a bar.

Yeah.....gotta hate those personal problems

Parra don't have to pay him as he is in breach of contract

so Parra can keep Lyon on his arse pulling beers to 2007 and stil have the $$$ to sign others

and if Lyon don't like that then someone in Wee Waa better be ready for Lyon to cry them a flood

Club might release before june 30 to free up cap space anyway. Not sure how all that works.
We don't release and his salary still counts against next years cap, we release he then signs with the roosters.
Can't win either way.

I doubt they'll release him. His salary isn't going to count next year unless he plays for us, i'm sure they'll terminate his contract under the provision that he cannot play for any other NRL club. If that isn't good enough for him then Jamie can get stuffed. Jamie can come out and state the 'truth' but my support over this will always go to the club.

Lyon is in breach of contract, Parra have not be paying him since the meeting he had with Smith, Fitzgerald, Cayless, Hindmarsh and Dykes when he asked for a release.

As Lyon is in breach of contract PArra don't need to pay him (and are not) and the money won't count on next years cap.

They could probably sue him.

Be careful you'll get edited. Not only could they sue him, they SHOULD sue him. Same as he would if the boot was on the other foot.

I'd love it if Jamie Lyon was to come out and "tell the truth" about the club. I'm sure it'd be a fine sob story about how his dreams and life ambitions have been shattered by a souless club and a tyranical coach. I'm sure that point that the club owes him everything and he owes the club nothing would also come out.

OK, time for a quick reality check. If my memory serves me correctly, he was one of the "Baby Eels" who shot to prominence in the tail end of 2000. He then enjoyed a fine season in 2001 (as did the rest of the club). He spent most of 2002 injured and came back in 2003.

Then after 1 game in 2004, he walked out on the club that had:
a) made him an Origin and Test centre
b) shown incredible faith in him by signing him to a long term contract. A contract which he signed knowing full well that Brian Smith was signed to be first grade coach till the end of 2006.
c) had only really gotten 1 and a bit seasons out of him (playing first grade).

I'm sorry, but it would have to be a damn fine story for me to start feeling sorry for him.

Okay so we spend up and reach our 3.25 million cap level. Then Lyon decides he wants to play next year, what then? Breach the cap, or re-negotiate his contract to purely incentive based do it counts against the 2006 cap?

Negotiate his contract so he's on an incentive based deal. He is still in breach of his contract for not turning up to play this year and it can be rightfully terminated by Parramatta. If he wanted to return the club would have the upper hand in any deal made. I'm sure they would find a way around it, remember the payed him 100 K for one game this year and that would be taken into account.
