Looks like a total dogbox of a stadium.

Stupid kiwis building a circular ground when their main game in Rugby.

even eden park isn't a perfect rectangle
and with all due respect , that stadium in Christchurch which is its main stadium albeit as a result of the earthquake is embarrasing for a city of 400K
why haven't they built a stadium similar to the one in dunedin to replace it yet

Thankfully both the crowds were very vocal. This crowd is pitiful though, the organisers have totally f**ked up.

If their quest was to embarass the game through projecting a low interest level to a casual fan by way of having low crowds on free to air tv then they have succeeded. The organisers have no feel for the game and its need to grow internationally. Absolutely disgraceful price ticketing/allocations and derelict game location selections! It's almost as if it was a deliberate plot to hinder the codes growth?!

Was at the Darwin game. TIO stadium is a terrible ground for league. Due to the slope of the outfield it is hard small kids on the hill to see the action.

Also a long way from the action so it feels a bit disconnected.

The sooner we get our purpose built league ground the better.

Having said that was a great night out with plenty of positive coverage, which is good considering the stranglehold afl has up here

There was one and the NTRL gave it up for lack of money. That’s one of the problems that Nightcliff, Brothers, Litchfield etc have with the new one.

The new one at Warren Park will not have anything like the capacity or the lighting to host an NRL std game.

So for the foreseeable future any NRL game/test etc will be at TIO stadium. Also TIO just have its lighting upgraded and a new light tower put in to make it better for TV

I reckon 13/15k. The yellow seats make it look worse. They should paint the seats black to soften the contrast same with ANZ stadium in Sydney.

Is this the stadium that is owned by Canterbury Rugby League, “rugby league park”?

Looks a good size for a future nrl franchise!
Is a temporary Stadium after Lancaster park suffered damage from the earthquake & will be demolished.

After a devastating earthquake the city may have other priorities for infrastructure. They will get get a new stadium. Hardly embarrassing.
