Q.E.D. = quod erat demonstrandum (Latin). Literally means 'which is what had to be proven (or demonstrated)', but basically means 'and this proves my point'. So what I'm saying is that your response was perfectly consistent with the argument I was making.

I had no idea (or couldn't remember) what the exact Latin words were......just the use of the acronym.

See if you can weave it into your next report to your boss.

'QED' were also a very ordinary pop band of the early 80s featuring Jenny Morris.

I could use this a couple of times a week in emails. Not so much documents though because my documents are solution requirement documents.

But definitely in emails to groups of people when I am explaining to them how dumb someone else is or they are specifically. Much like you did to me, and rightfully so :)
