No dont have a photo of that ... as purts made the break I got up pumping the air ... looked down on the ground and there was my Sportears with battery compartment open and batteries scattered.

Speaking of Sportears f**k that Junior Pearce has to be the most annoying commentator running arond ... f**king biased bastard, couldnt help but rib into the Raiders at every opportunity.

It was good to see even when we were getting exposed in the first half we never lost our enthusiasm and when we got chances we made good of them to stay in touch and ultimately over run the Tigers.

We need to keep in perspective though that the Tigers relied solely on Head as Morris was his usual poor self and there was no Farah, Marshall or Halatau who are major influences on their side. I know we were missing Zillman and Graham but I do think we got the Tigers at a good time.

Nigel Plum and Lincoln Withers should open a clinic for tackling on todays effort - exceptional.

Carney showed signs of his beat and he went Ok at times with Campo today but I still think he would benefit from playing 5/8.

All in all 3 from 5 and sitting 6th is a damn fine start to the year when most of 2008 has been doom and gloom Raiders wise.

He deserves to be tied up and plugged in Clockwork Orange style and made to watch the 89 GF on loop

Justin Carney for all those that have not seen him in the flesh ... he's a mean looking dude
Check out the lats on that MOFO. I had my doubts about the guy having just moved him from the back row, but he's a scary sucker no doubt and 100% more likely than Sau to make the grade.

Can tackle too, which is a bloody bonus considering the outside backs we have at the moment.

I hate to throw the name Ruben Wiki around, but we've been missing that sort of presence out wide for a while.

Just saw the replay of the 2nd half .... damn good defensive effort from the Raiders with a couple of back to back sets from the Tigers ...

... a fact that f**king Pearce could not acknowledge even once.

Congrats today guys. Well gutsed out victory.

I think it was Bay56 I talked to today. Nice to meet you.

The Tigers Toyota Cup squad is a shambles currently as one of our major playmakers warmed the bench in 1sts for 75 minutes, the other tore his ACL last start leaving Dunley to do it all. Missing big Willie Mataka in a major way and the teams attitude is way off.

On this Justin Carney. Has he had knee or leg problems in his past? I only ask because when I saw the trial in Mollymook his left leg was considerably smaller than the right

Well done to the Raiders on the win yesterday. Reckon it was one of the gutsiest i've seen this season, despite your blokes getting absolutly hammered by the ref (terrible performance).

You reckon your teams got the guts to make the 8 this year? I reckon they will given the effort to date.

What is it with this side and daytime football??? If we come out with the same attitude against the Storm we will get completely smashed. I, like many others I suspect, was calling for Purtell's head at half time. Alas his 3 try effort will save him but his defence was atrocious. I know Tuiaki is a big, strong winger but Purtell isn't exactly small but he refuses to put his body on the line.

We could lose Miller and Thurling this week so hopefull TLL will be ready and perhaps Joel Thompson will come in to consideration. We certainly need a forward or two with a bit more attacking ability. I thought Thurling was good and if he doesn't get suspended deserves a starting role. I would bring him in and bring Picker off the bench.

Agree with most regarding the lack of organisation in the halves however would be loathe to drop Campo as he was one of our best yesterday and the time may have come to move him to lock and Tongue to the second row. Obviously Dobson musn't be going great in Qld Cup and I don't know much about Herbert. Feel Henry will stick with Campo and Carney though. Campo is no doubt our best option to mark up on Inglis.

Never confident against the Storm, even at home, but I have a feeling we will put up one our better efforts against them next week. This is despite the looming nightmare of Inglis, Folau and Slater targeting our right side.

it should be noted (if it hasn't already) that in all canberra's wins, the opposition has been kept scoreless in the second half.

Jones and Thurling have been charged with a dangerous throw in 37th minute against Tigers.
Jones will be clear with an early plea..Thurling will miss one game

I know what you are saying... I am already having horrible visions of the Storm scoring 8 tries down his side. He is a really poor one on one defender. This has been the case for sometime, however. I would have thought Henry would be working with him day and night to improve it.

True that... That leads to a good point. Attitude.

When we want to play well we can. A lot of those things you can put down to 'inexperience' 2 years ago, but many of our players are starting to get a few games under their belt.

Some of these boys should stop reading the papers and listening to the 'experts' and start to back themselves. Many of us in this forum see these guys play more than many of the journos. We all know if we all click at the same time we could be quite a potent team.

I thought it was appauling how the journos jumped on the 'carney saves the day'. Carney didn't play bad...but he didn't play the house down either. Probably his best game this year so far. That was a real team effort to claw that win.
