I think our forwards dominated the Titans pack for the most part last night, unfortunately our execution in attack was dreadful and it is apparent that we have not improved in this area over many years. I am never confident when we get in the opposition 20 and it seems our only play is a short pass to a barging forward close to the line. Obviously Todd Carney isn't displaying great form at the moment and I think it i s time to change the halves. I would like to see Herbert given a run ahead of Dobson. We have seen what Dobson offers whilst Herbert remains an unknown quantity. In saying this Campo deserves to retain a place in the side and I know a lot of supporters won't like this but I think Tongue will have to play second row or hooker. Having him as a ball player last night was ridiculous and Campo would be far more effective. Herbert at 7 and Carney and Campo on either side gives a lot more options.
I never had a big opinion of Plum but I am liking what I am seeing this year. Thommo had one of his better games and Picker is getting better with every game he plays. I note some criticism of Weyman by certain people (who seem to have an agenda) but despite his brain explosion, he is by far our most explosive front rower. It is a shame that he will do time as he looks to be the fittest I have ever seen him.
My side for next week Goodwin, Best, Monaghan, Chalk, Purtell, Carney, Herbet, Campese, Tongue, Plum, Tilse, Withers, Thompson. Bench Thurling, Picker, TLL, Miller.
Noticed on the call last night they mentioned that Goodwin is attracting interest in other clubs whilst papers this morning indicate Zillman will be at the Titans next year and the Raiders have made an offer to Nathan Smith to return to the Raiders from Penrith.
