The only bands I know that have been successful with two different lead singers are AC/DC and Deep Purple.

Van Halen

lol too quick HD

Incidentally, I heardv a rumour that VH will actually be the next Rock Star band. Please say it isn't true - they were one of the greats but I won't be able to listen to them again if they do this ...

Sweet jesus.

Peter Garrett IS the Oils.
Jim Morrison IS the Doors.
Likewise Cobain with Nirvana and Mercury with Queen.
And Hutchence with INXS.

I think it's sad that a once great band had to whore itself out to television. They should've moved on when Hutchence died. I heard 'INXSs' new single the other day. What utter trash.

Very true

The best reality show would be to take people like Mark Burnett, Simon Cowley etc etc and have them all locked in something like the Big Brother house. Then they could turn off the cameras and leave them all locked inside......

I don't know if it has been mentioned here yet....
I couldn't be bothered reading it all.

I heard that Van Halen are next.
Jay and the Doctor were rightfully bagging them out on the radio this morning about it.

Poor Ron ...VH sold out...again that is.

They haven't sold out

If you were to have watched the INXS version you'd know that the talent avaliable is to hard to ignore, sammy hagar is to old & Van Halen do need a good young singer to compliment a very talented guitarist.

Selling out? i think not!

INXS were sh*t to begin with.

Bwhahahahahaha
Geezuz Ron that was quick ...I must have hit a nerve.

Face it mate that TV show is the lowest form of entertainment ever invented.

Probably suit one of your favourite wanker bands .

posing wankers all striving to be selected to join an already famous bunch of posing wankers..
I thought Eddie was better than this.

Jimi Hendrix would surely be turning in his grave.

f**k Hendrix, he was the master of utilising mediocrity, he prayed on some vunerable potheads & lsd freaks, you could've played them Billy Ray Cirus and they would've thought it was cool

And just on a note Van Halen have 70 million albums, they could have just retired but know they're trying to re-invent themselves which imo just shows how musically orientated the blokes are.

True guitarist aren't respected anymore it seems, so Eddie couldn't do it on his guitar alone, they need a new singer.

Wish Mike Patton was in VH....how f**king good would that be.

Mike Patten? Wouldn't work.

They should leave it be. They were one of the all time great bands and I'd hate to see that ruined with this crap.

Alice in Chains, Layne was such a waste of incredible talent, but Cantrell could do big things with another excellent singer.

SRV out-Hendrixed Hendrix by miles. A heap more talented. Kind've like Vedder/Cantrell/Staley/Cornell/Wood were much MUCH better singers than Kurt, but he died so he was martyred.
